Missing tooltips

I recently downloaded Fleet Operation and it worked great. Then I installed a mod for Klingon academy 2 which had graphic problems so i then uninstalled it. Now when I play fleet operations I have no tooltips at all. I have already tried re-installing and it didn't help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did you install KA in the mods folder or did you put it on top of FO?

Try checking your 'Dynamic_Localized_Strings.h' file at [Fleet Ops]\Data. It should be 1.9MB and 61,111 lines long. A text editor with a line display (like Notepad++) would help to check that, of course.

Mine shows that it is 1,819 kb and 61112 lines long not really sure what that means though

The size is just a rounding and display difference. The extra line is odd, though. Try this one. It's the one that comes with FO so it shouldn't break the game.

I replaced the file and there is no change. Is there a keybind that disables tool tips by chance?

Not that I'm aware of. When you mouse over, are you just not getting anything or do you get something like, "AUTOTOOLTIP-fed_excelsior.odf"?

Fleet Operations (the game, not the engine) disables some tooltip settings. It sounds as if you may have activated some with KA2. As all mods share the same settings file, a mod which disables a tooltip setting that is unavailable in Fleet Ops proper, will disable that setting in Fleet Ops.

You can probably fix this by deleting your settings file in your AppData (hidden folders). Can be found in Win7: %appdata%\Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations

The settings file is reconstructed after you launch Fleet Ops again :)

On a semi-related note, you mention KA2 having "graphic problems". Kind of curious as to what you mean and whether we can solve it. If you don't wish to that's fine, just odd when someone reports issues of that kind with your mod. :)

in reference to the KA 2 mod it worked fine except for when weaponsfire stuck a ship and i would get a white dimond superimposed over the ship.

Also deleteing the app data fixed my problem thank you.

Hmm, that sounds like an issue I had with the very first version I made for FleetOps. Was missing a shield impact SOD you see. Should be most definitely fixed in the current version however.
