Hey guys,
i got a weird problem. I want to play Fleetops 3.0 with a friend. We both downloaded the installer, got it on the hard disc, started the game, clicked on "Lokal Area Network TCPI/IP" (cause we both use hamchi), i joined his server and got:
.
So far everything is ok. Well i wanted a revenge (of course
) we do the same thing again, but i didnt see his server(s) any more. So i created a game, but it occured the same problem. Well we tried a few things, closed hamachi and tried to do it over "Internet - GameSpy". There we could see our servers, but we were unable to join them. After some hours we went disappointed to bed...
Next day we booted the game clicked on "Internet - GameSpy" and it works!!!
We played again (and i lost again :-[) and again i wanted a revenge, and again we couldnt join a server.
So my question:
Why?! How it is possible that it works sometimes and then not? That makes no sense, we never had problems with the preview version...
some technical info's:
We both use a router for internet access. His ports are open, mine not (but keep in mind, we didnt changed anything and the 3.0 PR had worked). It seems that hamachi doesnt have any effect on the game, cause it worked with and without it (ofc then only over internet -gamespy).
I hope you can help me..

Thank you that helped! ![ThumbsUp ](/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.png)
All the time i excluded that it could be the ports, because it worked several times without them.....![Blink ](/forum/images/smilies/blink.png)

According to NetHelp.txt you need to open the DirectPlay 8 ports, too.
2300..2400 UDP inbound and outbound
6073 TCP inbound and outbound
I don't know if it's really necessary. I don't like to open such a huge port range.

same to me... I always wondered why a game would use so many ports. Warcraft III needs just one!
But what can you do...at least it'S working.
DirectPlay8 ports are just needed if you play via direct ip I guess. But I'm not certain on that...
