Tonight I had my first major break-through in trying to play fleetops online. this mainly due in part coz my network operator finally released 3.5G on the cellular network. and i finally manage to reduce the latency i was getting by getting my phone to connect through USB instead of via bluetooth(YAY!).

So i go online, tunngle etc. and i type a msg in tunngle. guess what... no reply... zipo, nada, nothing but the sound of my pc humming away. then i started to swear, i checked my latency in relation to the other 8 ppl online lowest i got was 360, highest 600. YEA YEA YEA, I KNOW, KNOW thats not good enough for online play but still i thought i should at least get a reply to my msg.

i waited, and i waited, u guessed it.... i waited somemore... all the while going steadily insane until... MY SAVIOR ARRIVED! Malloch of Borg showed up and i got a reply. HURRAH! a sudden glimmer of hope lay on the horizon! I was saved! at least i had gotten somewhere! in all my efforts i finally reached my first milestone! can u believe it! I GOT A REPLY! tears of joy! laughter of happiness! FINALLY! THE LORD DOES WORK IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS! Malloch of Borg i thank you, u have saved me from going mad. its really means alot. U HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH.

SURE i know what you guys are thinking, but here in wild west of africa 360ms latency via 3.5G is the best i can hope for because i cant afford anything better. (that is untill i leave this SHIT HOLE of a continent and leave to either canada, USA or Oz; which should be by next year; THANK HEAVENS).

but really i just wana say thanks to Malloch of Borg for giving me that glimmer of hope. i hope u all had a good laugh from this, i did, although mine was laughter of happiness.

on a side note Malloch of Borg told me most of you guys are using some or other kind of patch together with the 3.1.5 patch, that apperently according to him allows you to play certain maps in flops or something, but sufficed to say and excuse my language when i say this, and no offence intended "where the hell is this dam patch"? i looked in guide, i looked in the download section of fleetops, i looked in the forum, and nothing. did i miss it? is patch that goes together with the 3.1.5 patch only downloadable from some exclusive secret society or something? pls some info here would good thanks, lolz.

:D (im still over joyed with getting a reply; can u feel it, CAN JA FEEL IT? YEA BABY, FEEL IT BABY, FEEEEEEEELLL IT!)

the patch is called the small blocking trigger patch.

a typo in the small blocking trigger odf causes crashes on any maps that have those triggers.

the patch is as simple as replacing an odf.

the required odf is here:
http://guide.fleetops.net/downloads/tri ... ng_sml.odf

which is headlined in the announcements section of the guide front page :P

the patch isnt official and doesnt have a version number, it counts as a mod for 3.1.5.

you should try a 1v1.

also tunngle will be quiet if everyone is in game. get teamspeak, it should run over your cup and string internet.

I'm sorry then your provider is rubbish, In Morocco when I visit my Dad I get HSDPA for my laptop and I can download at round about 200kb/s. All he pays is like £20 per month unlimited Data.

Worst Case I get UMTS which is about 120-140kb/s.
