I have NOT modified this version of the game and i can still play on multiplayer however i find it usfull to not know what im using until DD so if anyone can shed some light on this id be gratefull thanks  :D

It will help if you can give some PC specs and what operating system you are using, etc.  Then people who are smarter than me at compooters ^-^ will have a better chance of helping you out.

Do you have a bug report, or does it just crash straight out to desktop?

Ive gotton a bug report, ive used the hex editor to find the damage line/file with little success ive trouble shooted most possible scenarios, from what i can tell it has something to do with my moded version having more then the 5 stock races. Not sure why this effects a clean install but when saving data for instant action settings all versions of my FO share the saved setttings.

Ive changed my races.odf in my moded version of the game back to default. No more error in the clean install . Game loads fine. Is there anyway to have multiple versions of the game without this error effecting my orignal install?

There is no way that one install should affect another... maybe once when modifying you accidentally editing the right file in the wrong installation... but then, that wouldn't explain your fix.

If you can post the bug report I can have a look at it, I know some about Armada's guts.

I am unable to recreate the error and the bug report did not save correctly. If i encounter this problem again i will post the report.

Even if you pick up a random race, when it loads up into the game, the races are already chosen. There must be some error in ODFs or the techtrees. Try to load up races as allies, maybe the error is in the alliance-yards.

Looks like it is something to do with the default units for one of the races. It might be missing units, or a problem with an actual unit.

Its missing the cardassians but as i stated before one install of the game shouldnt effect another install, however thats how i fixed it again. It does not make much sense.
