Odd Resolution Issue

For ages I have been playing FO on 1280 x 1024 display mode. I had been testing out things all day and then all the sudden the display mode sets itself to 800 x 600. No matter what I switch the display mode to it automatically resets to 800 x 600. Reinstalling does not solve it. This problem started immediately after I added an SOD into the game if that's of any help determining the cause. I have no clue why all of the sudden the game is locked into that display mode, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the rest of your PC doing?  It's at the proper resolution, I assume, since you didn't mention it.  I don't know if this will help, but maybe you could try changing the resolution on your pc and seeing if that changes anything, and then change your pc back.  Also, are there multiple video card options?  Perhaps it is on your motherboard's stock video card?  Also, have you updated your video drivers recently?

Just as randomly as the issue popped up it suddenly went away and now all display modes work... Thanks for the help Mal but I have a feeling that was just some random freak glitch that came and went.

haha, i think that the menus are locked into that res, but once u launch a game it should go to whatever res u set in the graphics settings of the game.
