just watched one of rays replays and the game said something like: potential detection of remote build exploition.

what does that mean?

There is some Aramada 2 bug which allows building remotely (far away from the constructor). When the fix activates it will show that message (so it just tells that the fix works, in case someone might have been trying to exploit that bug). It doesn't necessarily mean that someone tried to do that, just that the fix activated the message.

I think it have been fixed in FO since the 3PR. I don't even know how it worked in vanilla Aramada 2.

someone told me about the exploit. it can only be used under rare conditions and even then it is hard to use. i wasn't able to reproduce it myself. after looking at the code i found a flaw that could cause it. this has been patched since 3.0 - since i was never able to test the patched code, the game warns if an irregularity has been found just in case. this may also happen in laggy games from time to time, so it doesn't have to say anything.

I had always wondered what that was for however i think you should remove the piece that prints out text to the screen. I remember playing with someone before and they thought that someone was hacking into their system. Or you could change what it says to be a little less ominous.

When I first read the subject header on the homepage, I thought it meant that someone was compiling code remotely on someone's machine.  :pinch:

Too much time as a PC Information Security Specialist, I suppose.

The warning should definitely be removed. It's rather useless since the bug is apparently no longer exploitable.
