Hi everyone,
I've been trying to add a new race to fleet ops, so that I don't have to have my custom ships built by one of the standart races, but somehow the game crashes as soon as i start an instant action game using that new race, although the new ships themselves are working fine and I made the race just as I would have done in vanilla Armada 2 (just adding the entry in races.odf and copying an existing race + changing names and slot)
... Now i'm not asking for a tutorial or something like that, but I was wondering whether there is anything special about adding races in fleet ops that i might have missed or maybe just some hint what could be the problem.

from my experiences adding a new race into fo3 is much more difficult than stock a2 (but possible) start by using a premade gui and racename then try and add every little piece of race stuff like cursor and selection box (i cant remember what was needed to get the race working for me i think i had to use the fed race name in my odfs)

Thanks alot I was able to work it out with your great advice and now my race is finally working i had no idea that this gui stuff could cause crashes at all

it dsnt in stock a2 as they all use the generic gui stuff (bar the gui its self)
