Following a discussion about fighter styles in this thread it looks like there is a bug in the replace weapon that means replacementAction = 3 isn't working properly and the ships created by a weapon using this command don't guard their creator like they should.

I can confirm this issue.  Before the recent patches, the line worked fine, but now it is the only thing that could be causing our fighters to not work properly. :pinch:

the reason for this is simple: this command has been removed as of 3.2.0. there were several reasons why this happened.
this command was closely linked to the old ReplaceWeapon warp-in functionality which was dropped in 3.2.0. the introduction of the 'fighter' classlabel also made this command redundant. another reason was that the implementation of the command was't that 'clean' and only a 'hack' to make fighters work in previous versions.
there are no plans to reintroduce this particular command for the replaceweapon, however you can request modding features at any time to make your ideas work in fleet operations :)

Thats unfortunate. :(  I I will have to redesign my fightersystem without this line.  I thought it worked better than the fighter class label myself.  For some reason, the fighters did better in battle when I tested them against the fighter classes. :(
