Are you able to get multiplayer to work while using Wine on Ubuntu?
I'm attempting to get Fleet Operations working under Wine, and I have FO 3.2.7 working (as well as Armada 2 vanilla) great, except for Multiplayer. It tells me it "Cannot connect to the LAN via TCP/IP".
WineHQ states that multiplayer works... https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. ... &iId=25010
I can't get it to do so though. Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Keleathi,
I never tried the multiplayer options and I never managed to run the FO 3.2.7 under Ubuntu Linux.
Maybe that need Wine 2 or 3 ? Right now, I updated the Wine to version 2.
I shared a link with two older versions of the FO working fine on Linux (multiplayer - I don't know) . Yes, I have a running version of the Star Armada 2 on Linux too.

Regarding Star Trek Armada 2 and Fleet Operations, you can found here some great playable mods for Ubuntu or any other Linux distro you use.
Just unzip into your GAMES folder and start the game using the WINE loader.
Download link: https://mega.nz/folder/splkmBzR#C0V9D2nbnG-XAx3XnVQuYA
Regarding the Fleet Operations, version 3.2.7, somehow it's difficult to get it to run on Linux.
Two years ago I started using the Linux Line distro which runs well on my computer. I have only 4 GB RAM, with the possibility to upgrade to 8 GB RAM. Before of that I used Linux Mint, but somehow that distro started to go slowly on my computer, even though I had 4 GB RAM.
I don't create any new ST> Armada 2 mods. Somehow I'm tired and I have other works to do.
I'm still working on that Wing Commander mod conversion from Armada 1 to Armada 2.
It's nothing special, just converting from one game mod to another.
Link: https://www.moddb.com/mods/star-trek-armada-2-wing-commander
I think it's completed around 80%.
I started to learn modding the Gratuitous Space Battles game, which runs pretty well on Linux too. Actually it's a 2D space strategy game. You don't have to build anything, just to send your ships to fight with other enemy ships. It's a great game.
Have fun.

Regarding the Milkshape 3D program, I managed to run it under Linux using WINE and works really awesome.
I looked at a few pages on the Internet to find out how to run the program>

To launch these games in windowed mode, under Linux, open the Terminal exactly from the game folder and type the following command :
wine Armada2.exe - window
then hit enter.
Another way to run these games in window mod, is downloading the DXWnd from here and set up in that way to launch those games in a window mode.

Using this page, http://armadafiles.com/files/armada-2/mods/total-conversions/fleet-operations I managed to find out which version of the Fleet Operations runs under Linux.
1. Fleet Operations Beta 1.1 - runs very well.
2. Fleet Operations Beta 2 - runs very well.
3. Fleet Operations 3.0 - runs very well.
4. Fleet Operations 3.1. 0 - runs well. (when launching the game it asks me to insert the original CD to run)
5. Fleet Operations 3.1. 2 - runs well. when launching the game it asks me to insert the original CD to run)
6. Fleet Operations 3.1. 4 - game crash (in my opinion could be from some DLL files)
7. Fleet Operations 3.2.7 - game crash (in my opinion could be from some DLL files)
Tomorrow I have to check the 3.1.0 and 3.1.2 versions, if they really run after I gave them access to the original Armada 2 CD or at least to the ISO file.
So far that's all the news for today.

Greeting everyone.
When I tried to launch the Fleet Operations 3.1. 0 and Fleet Operations 3.1. 2 from my Linux distro, Linux Lite, the game it asks me to insert the original Armada 2 CD to run. For that, I used the AcetoneISO program to mount the ISO file, but didn't worked. Maybe the game path was somewhere else, I don't know.
Then I remembered to use the dc-starmadaii11.7z file from here: https://gamecopyworld.eu/games/pc_st_armada_2.shtml
Then I have selected the factions from the game menu and I pressed the Launch button.....and the game started without any problems.
I'm really glad about this.
Regarding the Fleet Operations 3.2.7 I just couldn't turn it on at all, on Linux, because the game has instant crash when I tried to start the game. Does not show the game menu. Absolutely nothing. Sorry.
That's all for now. Going to play with the FO 3.1.2 version.

Hello again.
I have some great news.
Finally I managed to run the Fleet Operations ver 3.2.7 on my Linux Lite distro.
The key to solving the game launch was the file named dc-starmadaii11.7z file from here: https://gamecopyworld.eu/games/pc_st_armada_2.shtml
After copying the file in the game folder, the game started without problems.
Anyway, if you need to mount the ISO file or something, try using the AcetoneISO program, which is great to mount ISO files.
That's all the news.
Live Long and Prosper.

I installed Star Trek: Armada II via GOG's installer through Proton, and then installed Fleet Ops via Proton in the same prefix. I verified that all the files were in the correct place but for whatever reason it just crashed on launch, with no specific error message that I could see when I looked through the log file.
These seem to work OOTB with a little bit of tweaking (Making sure it displays on the right screen at the right resolution) as far as I can tell, so thank you very much!!
