I have been playing around with in-home steaming from Steam as a attempt to make a Server that Homes multiple games
so the test Ran and was unable with too much lag over 1gb Ethernet and the mouse pointer was flashing
lastest version, min settings, and used a "Real Switch" IE cisco 2970g
my system specs for host at
1100T @3.8ghz
amd 7970
windows 7 x64
(4x4gb) 16gb ram
ran game off 2tb Hdd with OS running on SSD
it was steaming to the client which is
2x 12 core (24 total) 61xx series amd Server CPU @ 2.4ghz
32gb ram
windows 2012 R2
8800GT
now I played around with other Non-steam games and all besides Age of empires 2 and FO worked great (world of tanks ran very well)
has anyone else had luck running FO with Steam In-home Streaming? or do you know of another way of running this game well over the network?
(of course what probly would fix this would add the game to steam

That doesn't entirely surprise me. I've had issues with a piece of capture software called LiteCam, which despite offering DX 7+ support, failed to hook into the Armada 2 executable and so wouldn't capture anything.
They have improved it somewhat so its hook now works, but it may be that Steam is having similar problems.
The devs were experimenting with a DirectX 9 renderer library they included in the later 3.2.x versions. It wasn't entirely stable but it did allow LiteCam to capture gameplay footage. You'll need to do a forum search to work out how to enable it (I can't remember how) and be prepared for disappointment.
