Selecting Random Race - Not Really random?

obviously, there's no such thing as a true "random" algorithm, but for some reason when I choose random race I get borg, dominion, or romulan probably 90% of the time between the three of them.

I hardly ever get federation, and have only ever ONCE gotten klingon.

It seems the algorithm for picking the races is skewed. I've noticed this with the AI set to random as well, the AI tends to get borg, klingon, and dominion the most, with federation and romulan less often.

However, the AI's random picks do seem a little bit more random than the players.

thats just your personal feeling, the algorithm works fine. geting the same thing 5 times in a row is also random

sorry mate but your obviously wrong and the algorithm is fine...

for instance you say you get borg, rom and dom a lot but i get fed a bloody lot, and then a fair mix of borg,rom and klingon and now and again dom...

so as you can see we have completely different expierences so it works fine...

Well, you are wrong, Lumpybob. I've never gotten the same race twice in a row, so that must mean that you are wrong.

No, I just don't remember names very well, so I typed in yours because I couldn't remember the other guys' name. I typically find that you are right.

To be fair, 3.0.4 I've gotten klingons more than I ever have in the past. Maybe it's my install. *shrug*
