I just recently played a game with the AI me as Federation: Mayson, it as Federation: Mayson on the Da'ka Corridor map. It was on one side of the corridor and I on the other so by the time I got through to it's base it was fairly well along and curiously had a couple of Phalanx class ships. It didn't actually register that something was weird about that until after the fact. It was clearly playing Mayson as the AI because it was throwing Norways at me earlier but there were clearly two or three Phalanx ships. I looked at the map in the map editor and there weren't any apparent derelict Phalanxs, so where did they come from?

If there are actually a couple of those floating aroud on that map, I'm sorry for bothering you fine folks.
But if there aren't, it might be something to look into.

since the new patch the ai uses the special ships of both avatars, because it cant really use the avatar system.

So I shouldn't be supprised if I see it playing both sides of the table so to speak.

On the plus side of things, it means that B'rel and K'vort always have their torps, for cool factor!

Actually, I think they don't always - just like you sometimes see Martok and TaQ'roja versions of the Negh'var (one with a very high defense... one not so high)

maybe the ai chooses the one randomly and not after effectiveness.

more likely they build one yard first and then the other. unless the AI yards can build both types of ships
