  Boggz here.

So Butters/Chino/Beat and I just did some OoSync testing on Champagne Supernova.

3 Games.

2 Out of Syncs.

Game 1:  Fed/Rom vs. Fed/Rom
Wormholes used.  No OoS.  Game ended by unfortunate crash later in the game :D.

Game 2:  Fed/Dominion vs. Fed/Dominion
OoS occurred.  The OoS occurs when Butters send a Federation scout into the Top wormhole.
Note---- The OoS occurred EXACTLY when Butter's scout came into interaction with the wormhole.  Not when it went through, not when he clicked on it, not when he saw it, but when the scout itself came in the VERY BEGINNING SECOND of the "entering wormhole animation".

Game 3:  TEST GAME - Fed/Fed vs Fed/Fed
OoS occurred.  We decided to see if it had something to do with Dominion being in the game and testing the hypothesis that reaching the "event horizon" of the wormhole would have an effect.  Boggz' Fed scout entered the bottom wormhole.  OoS occurred when Boggz' scout reached the event horizon of the wormhole (the "edge" of it).

So ... what we noticed was that the Out of Sync's occurred only when a ship entered the "point of interaction" with a wormhole.  Don't have an explanation as to why it occurs beyond that, but that's a very good starting point.

Happens for any ship or just the scout?

I can't answer those two questions.  Finding 3 other people who are willing to test over and over is difficult.

To add onto the report: Seems to be the action of giving an order into the wormhole, not actually entering it. Furthermore increases in frequency (and replicability) with the more players you have. 4 is the optimum, and anymore generates increasing frequency of OOS through wormhole usage. :)
