Since i suffered a big issue with my pc the sound has been totally screwed in fleet ops and only fleet ops.
After i fixed the problem with my PC which turned out to be ANOTHER faulty ram module the PC booted up and worked fine when it was broke it would not boot only make a long beeping noise.
Anyway first the sound didn't work at all but i fixed that and the music, and the station sounds ect all seem to work fine but the weapons fire is totally whacked, i can hear weapons fire as if i had my screen over it even tho its on the other side of a huge map and when i click where the combat is it sounds like im far away from it and sometimes the sound of the weapons fire goes deaf.
I cant figure out how to fix this, i have already completely reinstalled fleet ops and that's how i got the sound for the other stuff to work but the weapons sounds are screwed.

next version of fleet operations includes an updated version of the fmod engine, which may fix your issue

But it worked fine before, it was only after my recent pc problems that this started happening, increasing the sound channels and messing with the sound settings seems to have helped a little but the weapons fire sounds still disapear at times or become dull as if they are in the distance when im on top of them, sometimes zooming on the ship makes the sounds come back but as soon as i zoom back out its in the distance again.
Its a very strange issue.

Have you changed anything software sided before the problem appeared? Driver, other software that could interact with sound?
Another possible solution: remove the soundcard (even if onboard) from the device manager, rescan for hardware, install it again with latest drivers (sometimes you have to manually clean the old driver from the registry and your hd). Then open the sound settings (right click on the icon in the taskbar, playback devices), click on your default device, properties, new window appears - "enchancements" tab, deactivate them, check the other tabs for exclusive mode etc and deactivate it too.

No ill pass on that if it were a sound card or driver issue then some else other than just fleet ops would have been affected in some way. Only fleet ops has had sound problems.
Just to be clear since that sounded rude i rushed that response without reading it through to see how it came across, i only brushed that solution off 1. because i already knew how but wanted to avoid it since its a last resort and im lazy but also because i have now fixed the problem, after the ram issue i had i think my settings in fleet ops were corrupted or just lost somehow but i fiddled with the sound and now its working i changed the sound to 7.1 surround sound and increased the sound channels to 72 and i don't have the same problem i did before.....so far.
Thanks for the responses.
