Video Stops "Updating"

I've noticed that whenever a station or vessel has completed construction the game visuals stop updating but the sound continues playing.  When I hit esc to the main menu and back again it resets itself and the visual continues along.  This becomes near impossible to continue though as the game advances.  I am running:

Intel Dual Core 1.55GHz
2048 RAM
nVidia 7400 Go
Vista Business 32bit

I do not get lag or suffer from FPS issues

you need to get the latest drivers
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
for your vid card I had this problem as well and new drivers fixed it

7400 has no driver updates through nVidia

Update: Corrected by using windowed mode (1024 x 768 x 32).
