So I've finally gotten to buy parts to build a new machine for myself...

And after testing loads of games with high performance requirements I wanted to test FO again...

This is what came out of my first "game"... the screenshot was taken with a unit selected. The display didn't show up. Errm... basically nothing but the ship- and moonmodels and the cursor showed up.

Well, it's an unsupported fix :) Without posting any specifications at all here, I just had to guess at what your issue was ;)

I know for instance, my computer thought it would use its integrated card to run FO, instead of using its dedicated - resulted in some weird stuff before I figured out how to switch it  ^-^

Sorry for the inconvenience, your guess was fine though.
Anyway, the way it is; I'm unable to play FO with my new system right now.

Does that mean you are running an Nvidia GTX 400/500 series? If so, check to see perhaps if there are new drivers - only thing that can be suggested I think

A semi-related question

I'm looking at getting a new laptop & I was wondering if the "Nvidia GTX 400/500 series issue" also applies to the GTX 400M/500M (the Mobile editions for laptops) specifically the GTX 560M...

wouldn't want to shoot myself in proverbial foot fleet-ops wise :sweatdrop:

I don't know, but I bet if you posted a poll somebody might be able to answer satisfactorily :)

I have a GT 540M which works great, if that's an option for your laptop - if I recall correctly the GT and GTX aren't that different performance wise, but the GTX is quite a lot more expensive  :sweatdrop:

Was a solution to this problem ever found? I just updated my Windows 7 comp to run better and now Fleet Ops and Sigma are giving me this exact same issue.  :crybaby:

It did. For me FO works fine on a GTX 570.

Indeed, at least 5 people have used the driver update which fixed the problem :)
