New laptop, perfect baby.

hmm, are you running 32 bit or 64?  I am running win 7 32 bit, and it runs fine.

64, with dual processor. Can't remember the graphics card but its a good one and 4gb RAM

You might want to reinstall just to try that out. Does it stutter throughout the game, or just during explosions?

Throughout the game, and yeah I'll try and install and let you know the outcome

yeah. I have 32 bit, 4 GB of ram, and it works fine, so maybe it has something to do with 63 bit.  your os might be too advanced for armada

I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 and Armada runs fine.

Well, could you tell me what settings you use please? like all settings :)

Sure.

1280x1024x32, 2xAA, Graphics Detail on full, HWVP and Bump Mapping on.
Specs are Intel Q6600 @ 2.4ghz, Geforce 8800GT 512MB, 8GB DDR2 1066Mhz RAM.

Its probably not an Armada settings issue, since your machine is more than capable of running it well. Are you running any processes that might be taking a lot of processor time? Also, since its a laptop are the power settings configured properly? (ie, in Balanced or High Perormance mode, not Power Saver).

Well when its got the power cable plugged in, its balanced. Is that right?

Balanced is fine, but try setting it to high performance to see if that makes a difference.
