Map Objects, The Return
Last week we discussed some miscellaneous concepts relating to resources, neutral stations, and untraversable zones. However, one major thing we haven’t yet covered is terrain.
Map Objects, Part 1
Terrain and map objects are critical elements of a good strategy game. Thus it should come as no surprise that for the past few years, Fleet Operations has expanded its background coding in order to enable many concepts that were previously considered impossible. While the next patch is not focused on map goodies, because of all the work required for the introduction of the faction redoes, we are already planning toward a large scale environment redo somewhere down the road. We are looking for your input, ideas or thoughts about what we have in mind! Tell us what you think!
Cold Hard Numbers
Previously we had mentioned that each profile gets distinct benefits with respect to weapons, as well as stating that ordnance will have particular characteristics. Yet, there were frequent questions about actual raw numbers and comparison to earlier patches, which we will answer in this news post. Of course, we must warn that since we are still in development, numbers are not necessarily set in stone.
Scout Me In
Line of sight is one of the more important concepts in any good real time strategy game. In order to know what build order your opponent is using, where he or she is setting up construction for expansions, resource harvesting, or forward bases it is necessary to stay vigilant throughout the match.
