Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

Taking a stab at Atolm/Azel's Reman dreadnaught. Unless she gets a serious haircut I doubt I can get the poly count down on this beast (currently running at 5000 polys.

Nice work :). Haven't seen the original design, but looks rather flat - appropriate for a top down view in an RTS, but looks a bit weird from any other angle I'd imagine  . I'm curious where the feathering comes into play: as I recall, the Scimitar didn't have feathers, so I guess this is getting much more into that Atolm-style Romulan vessel.

That is quite tasty. Looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Here are the two Atolm/Azel drawings that I am using. The model is exactly like either and I took a little artistic license here and there.

Nice pepperman! I love your romulan/reman style for ships.

Out of interest pepperman, are you familiar with the DirectX Mesh Tool in Milkshape3d? Can really help get a poly count down with very little loss of detail, and very easy to use too.

Squire, I am familar with the tool and have used it before. I have also used some of the capabilities in Max (still learning moch of those). Once I get the beastie textured, I'll look at options to either reduce her or setup LOD control. This would make it available to Armada players. :)

Now the laborous texturing....sigh

All the credit for the design style goes to Atolm/Azel. I am merely trying to do my part in bring his work to 3D as best I can.

Okeedoke :) I just thought I'd ask since I have used it and reduced poly counts from 8 or 9k down to 3k with very little loss of definition. Thought that if somehow you were not aware (I figured you were) then it would be of great help.

Yeah, looks pretty good. Almost like talons coming out of the wings on either side.

The only thing is the "beak" or forefront is looking a bit dominion in my eyes. Just the whole middle bulk with the triangular feel back to front, but especially front.

Wings look awesome.

am i right in thinking this is based on an alternate concept design for the Scimitar?

This is excellent work. Would you happen to also be thinking of a design for a Reman cruiser?

Do you have one in mind? The Reman Saif Battlecruiser and Katan from Bridge Commander have been converted. These are Raven Night's design and both are great looking ships. Models and textures are by LC Amaral. Here they are in case you haven't seen them before.
