Hello
I have been trying to obtain a legal copy of star trek armada II for a long long time, I have the first one but i found the second one to be far better with your mod, however you can not buy it anymore.

Anyway i have recently been purchasing some old games on GOG.com (Good Old Games) and found that they have a voting system to get games on to the site and they have Armada II there so i was hoping you guys could vote for it possibly?

GOG.com

Then i can finally get a legal copy of the game!

Thanks
Rich

done

had to register an account to vote, but thankfully their site doesn't make that annoying.

sadly a2 is buried under so many other games still, some are pretty silly eg:

no one lives forever: such an epic game, i loved it, but you can still find copies on amazon that are dirt cheap. there's no point requesting this site to sell it as it's already really easy to find.

the action pack (contains a1/a2/ef1/ef2) is only 40 quid atm on amazon, used of course, but still pretty cheap considering the prices i've seen at other times.

on ebay prices fluctuate more, but i can see a copy of a2 for only £33 buy it now.

Voted!  Though I doubt it will get up there.  It has very few votes, and seeing as that site doesn't even have a star wars game on it, I doubt it will get star trek games for quite some time. :(

I have no idea what the republishability of Activision's Trek games is, seeing as their Star Trek license has expired (and was the subject of a lawsuit in 2003, settled in 2005).

Thanks guys!
I would prefer to have a legal copy, thanks all the same but I'm not one for piracy.
I think they will get the game on there eventually, Just have to wait and keep my fingers crossed.
Just out of curiosity is the game still under copyright?

Yes the game is still copyrighted, and the rights to Star Trek, Armada II, and the code belong to three separate companies. It is incredibly unlikely that GOG.com will be allowed to sell copies. However, we have other options pending.

Yes but your logic makes no sense in this case, the game isn't manufactured anymore so any copy's of the game are now second hand therefor the devs nor the company that published it are getting any money so what difference does it make? Give your misguided morals a rest in this case.

Thats a little harsh man.  Just because it wont make a difference, doesn't mean you should do something you deem immoral.  That is a little thing we like to call integrity.

In this case it is meaningless integrity. His principles in this case are misguided.
