You could try adding some Ferengi ships to see if they crash the game just by being there.

Late last night I got a chance to try what you suggested to do with the Ferengi ships and I actually think you might have narrowed down this problem even further with an idea that I wouldn't have even thought of.

****Here are the results of the Ferengi Units Test****

I tried putting the Ferengi Cargo ship and Scavenger ship into my standard map for testing any object in the game (Battle Test). Well the ships didn't show up on the map and the game crashed. I believe that you are right that the Trading Station error is connected to the Ferengi but how and why is now another question that I have.

Do you have any ideas how to fix this knowing that the Ferengi even crash the game before their ships "Cargo and Scavenger" ever even hit the map?

Also, I'm sorry there is no screen shot  but the screenshot that I got only showed the desktop of my computer  (as in the patch project failed to get the crash in time I guess, I could try this again to get the bugreport if anyone requests that).

It's OK about the screenshot, they don't help that much in situations like this anyway. The only thing I can think of right now is to try temporarily reducing the number of races to see if that makes a different - you don't have to completely remove them, just comment out the reference from the races.odf file. You can add them back after seeing if it stops the crash.

Edit - Don't forget to adjust the race count appropriately.

Ok, I'll try that, I'll comment out the added races, the Vulcans, The Dominion, Son'a, Gorn, The Remans, The Terrans (needed for a Reman Special Weapon) and I'll include Species 8472.

****Note I paused typing this to run that test and here are the results****

With only the following races in the race.odf file, the game still crashed after building a Trading Station.
1) The Federation
2) The Borg
3) The Romulans
4) The Klingons
5) The Cardassians

The game was the Federation against the Klingons. I played as the Federation ans I used my standard Instant Action Map Dante's World. The game crashed right after I finished having a Trading Station built (K7 is that station for my Federation, the station was added months ago and worked just fine until this error started).

Just as the Construction Ship's work bees returned to the Construction Ship, the game craseed. The screen shot and the bugreport are included.

I believe this test just makes it further clear that you are right that it has something to do with the Ferengi in the game.

The Ferengi were in there too, yes?

I will have a look around to see if there is anything that could cause an error if wrong. I don't know all that much about races however, maybe someone else has an idea.

The Ferengi were included in the race.odf, I only just mentioned the races that were playable (I only mentioned the Terrans for one of the removed races because sometime I'm planning on finding away to devise a non-playable Terran Race to use the additional Terran Ships I have.

The Ferengi were included in the race.odf file.

The race.odf file that I used for this test is attached.

I just want to let everyone know that I have created a auto-installer for an Alpha Testing of my mod. This way if anyone wants to test out some of their own fixing ideas before suggesting them they could.

This installer already has all the necessary files required to play the game including the .EXE file so all you're going to need is your own disc to play the mod.

I would post the link from megaupload for those of  you that want to test out the mod but I believe since I havew incorporated Fleet Ops SODs and Textures for a few Dominion ships and stations that I added to my game (they aren't causing any crashes but I haven't even used them yet, except the stations of course).

Since these files are already in the auto-installer, I can't just remove them and post a download link so if you want the file, please send me a PM and I'll give you the link.

If I can post the download one time only though here on the forums, please let me know sometime soon. Thank you, for all of your continued help.

I have been doing research into this error further and have found that it mostlikely is the Ferengi causing the problem. There is a Ferengi Full Race Mod (and a patch) on Armada2Files and my plan is to download that and to see if that can possibly help fix the problem, I am going ot make the Ferengi as a race non-playable though as long as this won't interfere with the campaign and the Instant Action games.

Here are more screen shots and bug reports to accompany my other post, for some reason the site isn't allowing them to upload as a group when they are under the limit still.

This is the final screen shot and bugreport to post from testing this error earlier.

Also, to get the files that might tell if there are changes to the Ferengi causing this problem, here is the download link, I'm not going to risk posting the file just incase there are probelms trying to attach it. All the files in this .ZIP file are the originals and have their respective Read-Me's included.

Does anyone think I should install the Ferengi Full Race Mod (Ferengi Scavengers) from Armada2Files to see it that might actually fix the Ferengi problem and allow the Trading Stations and Cargo Ships for all races to work again. Or do you think that this is just a theory that just possibly won't work and will be a waste of time?

I am totally sure of it now, I ran the final test that was suggested, to "Turn Off The Ferengi" and this worked perfectly, the Trading Station I choose to build belonged to the Son'a and after it was completed, the game didn't crash. I was even able to use the station and build Construction Ships.

Now I know that I can't leave the Ferengi off permanetly and I'm eventually going to need their Trading for my games commerce especially for buying Metal or Dilithium in a quick "In-Game" Emergency. Plus I'm not sure if the Ferengi can even be turned off in the Campaigns.

So my only question is:
Does anyone really think I should add a full Race Ferengi Mod, namely the Ferengi Scavangers one that I posted a link to on Armada2Files? Could this possibly fix the Ferengi Error? I know this mod is by STGamerNew2002, the same person who created the Dominion Ultimate Mods.

Well either way, I'd like to thank all that found out that it was the Ferengi causing the problem, those at Armada2Files' Forums were stumped all the time well I was a member there and thanks to the people here telling me that the Patch Project 1.2.5 Patch does work with Vanilla Ultimate I was able to give Bugreports and Screenshots for this error. Thank you again.
