Borg Cubes

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

I have to agree to both sides because i would love to see a borg cube and fear it just like in the movies but then it would be unbalanced for a rts game such as this one. :D

As long as the creation is slow, but "saveable," you can have both.

you can only fear a cube when you haven't the right defences.
btw. think of the expensive borg cube when floating in space after disabled by a few polaron torpedos. then all of your defences were easily disabled by one special ability and your base is unprotected.

Then maybe the best way to defeat a cube would be with a fleet of Vorchas.

mobile borg "base" giving fire support + standard ships required anyway = too strong
:)

If you think of it that way, it would be no different from somebody attacking a Borg Base.

right, but the difference is, that you can drag your base firepower to the enemy base :)

Then if you have a good number of ships, fighting off a base with the help of your own defenses and structures would be even easier. :)

I wouldnt want the Borg Cube to be enourmously powerful, but I think it should be at least 1/2 more powerful than it is right now.

i don't know, i do not play often borg, but isn't the cube not the strongest ship of this vessel size?

it definitly is, only the descent class can be compared to it. the fusion cube and the Romulan Tavara Class Warbird (which will cost credits the cube don't) are more powerful.
you should try combine the cube with small vessels. a Cube-only fleet can get serious trouble by torpedo carring ships, like a group of Klingon Sang class. A few Spheres in front of your fleet will concentrate the enemy fire on them, using Regeneration they can persist damage quite effectivly for a short time, which should be enough to destroy or assimilate the enemy fleet with your cubes. Also try Tactical Cube. They lack the assimilation capibilty, which is most effective with small vessels, but equipped with two powerful beam type weapons they are an perfect allround battleship.

I beleive that if sooo many people bug 4 a realizm mod than make a couple odf's and make it the realizm addon for fleet ops. increase warbird and galaxy power and increasy the cube crew and powere alot but make it cost credits and a sum what more credits than all other things.

erm, simply no.
The balancing between the races would not allow super ships, and this should also be no mod with super ships, thats something we wanted to avoid. Think of the fusion cube of the original armada 2, it only would make the game unbalanced and no fun to play after a few games. in my opinion the most 'super' mods make the game only fun for 1 or 2 games.

It still seems like a balancing issue and/or a restriction issue to use a few superships. Maybe! I think StarCraft did it well.

I believe in single player there were some crafts that had to be protected and had special powers.
