Allows this unit to carry fighters from destroyed carriers

Not to mention that they could also be stored in engineering and the hallways.

Cargo Bays, most ships come with them as standard. The Dominion Carrier would likely be one of them, as it has to have a lot of space carry a lot of supplies for the troops.

Makes as much sense as civilian hanger bays on Jem'hadar vessels....
