That sounds a little presumptious, even arrogant.

It's not excessive. It keeps me unpredictable. I never have "Favorite" strats, or anything like that. I like to be unpredictable.

Actually I think I was talking to CTS, I dont remember and am too lazy to look back in the forums. Either way everyone has something favorite they do.

This strat wouldn't work at all on me, for two reasons, 1: I never mine outisde my main base, 2: because I don't rely on mines, I just use infinite resources.
Me I basicly build starbases all around my base, then line the entrance with turrets and loads of weak but still armed ships. Then I send out a construction ship, with some escorts, then have it build a starbase semi close by. And slowly expand, meanwhile I research advanced tech and begin building the large ships, I don't bother with the smaller ones. When I finish a decent sized fleet I go to a nearby empire and take them out, letting my ships pick them off slowly, then I beam crewmen aboard that starbase using all of my ships, then I take over their base and use their tech. Then I build up a fleet of the new ships and add them to my old fleet, then send the fleet out to do the same to another empire, slowly assimilating empires technology until I come to the last empire, the last empire, is going to be the strongest, they've had the longest time to build. In on situation I stole an enemy construction ship and built a wall of starbases around them pummeled them to dust. I like getting to most out of my attacks. Some times strategy fails and I just send every ship I have into the battle and demolish the enemy in a massive onslaught. My bases can handle themselves
A suggestion: Build a starbase then build another starbase, then construct structures around it, then place another starbase, never leave a structure out there alone or with just a few turrets, they need a starbase protecting them

I see a few flaws in your strategy, for one you never ever want to think a base of stationary defenses can protect against a few balance fleets. I find out again and again that nothing works better against attacking ships then with your own ships. Now another problem could be this basehopping idea, just taking a few con ships and building bases here and there, seems risky. Especially while your doing this most players would have already started a full assault on your first base. One more thing, starbases suck on this mod, you can get the same protection from a few turrets that you could from a starbase and with most races it would be cheaper and more space efficiant.

My strat is a high recources strat, and cant be played on low recoures, and belive me, by the time u have all tech, my mining stations would be inexcesable to your ships.

LOL but a true tactiction dose not need extra recources a true master of the game can play with default setting and win

lol, a true tactician can destroy a enemy base with a venture class.

The normal recources is too low. Than again, ive only used it once so I dont play low resource.

All I use is low resources, you should'nt be able to build everything without mining.

High recources is better beacuse it lets u get a quicker start.

Well yeah but anyone who does that I consider a n00b, I mean no offense but only people that have probs playing ever use it. A true A2er knows better then to give in to the lust lol.

First of all, as I said in my strategy post, I build starbases all around my main complex, then I expand, place a starbase near by, then another starbase near the previous one, then I build an advanced shipyard inbetween and start building ships. I use infinite resources, cause 1: mining sucks, 2: takes too long 3: there are only so many resources on a map, I want to just build my fleet. Some times I'll build a starbase far out, but only if I have too. I usualy play as borg so starbases do help alot more than a turret. Though turrets are very usefull for extra main base protection, I don't just use my starbases for the defenses. I have them build the small attack craft. They then serve a double purpose. I usualy play on the sentinels map, so my tactics are designed for large maps with lots of tight squeeze passages.
Another suggestion: If your playing as borg, build a transwarp gateway then make a transwarp conduit somwhat near your enemies base, then build up a large base there. Line the entrance with turrets.

Infinite Resources is bad. It defeats the purpose of the game. I think Optec should just take it out.
As for me, I use low starting resources and maps with many moons. I build my empire and defend it carefully.
And for people still wondering why I switch strats: Because other people don't. I play a person, and use one strat. They play me again, thinking I will use the same thing and prepare for it. Instead, I use another and beat the badly.
