Ok, I'm sure some people have a specific ship type that, even if not the best uber pwn combat ship, they always prefer to make a veteran (if it lives that long) as their flag ship.
So........ as a little fun (and who knows maybe even coming up with new veteran abilties) post the ship class / name / abilties of your 'flagship'.
To start:
USS Leyte Gulf, Galaxy Class Venture Refit type B.
Changes:
-Quick charge shield capacitors" 10% shield regeneration rate boost, 2% shield capacity loss.
- Expanded torpedo decks. Two added forward torpedo tubes added to the middle engineering deck, on each side of the deflector, inboard of the RCS mounts. (*1)
-TriCobalt Volley. Vessel gains a fowad TriCobalt torpedo tube, mounted into the center of the deflector dish. Using special energy, the ship gets to fire a 3-4 shot volley of tricobalt torpedos, each a little more powerful than the intrepid ones.
-Veteran Abilties-
-Bombardment: At Veteran Status, the ship may shift crew from the photon torpedo tubes to staff the TriCobalt torpedo room, allowing the vessel to fire TriCobalt torpedos without any special energy penalty.
Point Defence: As the ship must loose impulse speed to aim at long ranges, the phasers have a 30% chance to automaticly hit incoming torpedos within their normal range.
Note1: Heres where the additonal tubes would be.
Anyway, in a 1on1 it'd be over powerful, but not too powerful ingame.
So try to post your own ideas, try to keep them at least semi realistic :p .

Preferbly, but not fully nessacary :p.
But who knows if it's liked enough it may become a one in a thousand chance warpin :p .

Changes:
-Range increased to long
-Cluster torpedos replaced by Triple fire torpedos
-Modified Heavy Disruptor (increased damage)
-Omni armor (same as on the K'beajq)
-Manual targeting
Rank 5 recieves Armor plates (same as the K'beajq)
Veteran Abilities:
-Tritanium-Deuterium-Alloy Reinforcements
-Strategic HQ (Nebula San Fransisco class final ability, only this will call in two b'rels and a K'vort, or a K'beajq. the cooldown time is doubled.)

Id have to say mine would be a Rhienn class 'final' refit, a combo of all three refits (disruptor, torp, pulse)
-Long weapons range
-Keeps phase plates and all other special abilities from other refits
-2 disrupters, 4 pulse disrupters, 1 torpedo launcher
-Attack & Defence +30 from standard rheinn (+5 att. & +15 def. disruptor, +15 att. & +5 def. torpedo, +10 each pulse)
Rank 5 gets upgradable attack & defence (20 each), as well as supreme cloak

-Pulse disruptors disable a random subsystem with each hit (only 1 per volley)
-Add quadcobalt launcher in center of ship w/360 degree firing arc
Possibly the most amazing ship thats still destroyer size

-Saucer Seperation
-When Seperated offensive strength of each sections doubles due to weapons being uncovered by seperation
-Deflector Phaser pulse super-weapon thing (ass seen in the borg episode)
-captains yacht flies around like a fighter
- 10 (360 arc) quantum pentacolbat torpedo lauchhers (can one shot cubes like in endgame, except more powerful)
- 20 quantum torpedo laucnhers, (on rotating spindle things so they have a large 360 arc)
- alblative armor mk 5
- type 27 supercharge magnan phaser array (30 firing points 360 arc)
- Metaphasic and temporal sheilding
- hull plating/polarized hull

- blue ion disruptor cannon pulses (40)

no no nukov, one of the destroyed 'ships' in the wreckage field was a photo copy of an intern sitting on a copy machine... sans pants.

We really need the Steamrunner back ingame eitehr way, but done right (which for A2 may be a first :p )
Also if you take a look at the Saber class, you'll notice that the Saber and Steamrunner both appear to use the same type of nose mounted shuttle bays.
I have no point with this, just thought it'd be cool to point out :p .
