Hi im new on the boards but ive checked on this mod from time to time but i have a few questions
1,are there going to be many people playing this online or will u devs play it online
2,is there any way of acumilating credits
{or do u choose certain paths with them and develop certain types of ships for example if u develop phaser arrays and burst fire torps u get Galaxy or if u develop pulse phasers u get defiants?}
3, have u removed pulse weapons from starbases because i always found that fake
4,will u have non player ai roaming maps randomly like orion pirates or the pirates from gambit who attack you and steal ur freighters {that would be cool a real reason to have escorts}
5,have you edited the formations and attack patterns? that is one thing id love to see
6,how many races will be in this mod
7,will there be any fighters of such that you can develop but have no warp drive so they can be llike base defenses
8,will wreckages stay on screen for over one milisecond or will u have battle wrecks remain there for 5mins and is there a way to salvage blown ships
9, will ships be rescalled acordingly becuase i thought cubes were to small and so were galaxys
10,do u have a need for A Beta tester {fast connection play games alot and post on forums every day}
11,have you edited any nebulas or added any anomolys
12,Have you given the Ai any tactics or interesting stuff it can do or spontainious actions or is it the same old thing
13,will it matter to have a variety of vessels or will this be mass build soverign
15,finally will there many different levels of weaponary for example Freighters and cargo ships type 1phaser sov type 13phaser you get my drift and will the romulans have there true cannon disrupters if they are in the game.

mh.. many questions.. i'll try to answer them ;-)
1) becouse Fleet Operations is a multiplayer mod, we hope there will be many people playing it online.. I WILL play it online ;-)
2) The Host of a game can choose between 5 or 10 credits to start with. Every race does a different thing with their credits.. the federation for example can warp in vessels from Starfleet, which won't cost resources to build. The Borg can construct a transwarphub or research fusion upgrades..
3) The buildings, like the vessels, differ more between the races then it was in Armada2.. the Federation Outpost (the stating base) has pulsephasers. The Borg Assimilation Matrix has phasers
4) there are different types of non player ais.. some will fly arround the map and try to capture your vessels and frighters (similar to the good old ferengi) some will have bases with resource production and yards like a "real" player
5) I'm actually working on new formations. becouse we hace removed the "height" of a map, we need new formations.. I hope i get a few formations running for the first Beta
6) In the Beta there will be Federation, Klingon and Borg. In the final version there also will be the Romulans, Iconians, Ciadan, Eridians and Noxter
7) The Eridians are the only race which has fighters
Haven't thought of such a freature yet.. maybe, maybe not..
9) All models in Fleet Operations have been made to fit the Star Trek feeling.. the scaling should be correct overall..
10) We don't need Beta Testers till now. Feel free to download the beta, when it is released.
11) Actually we used nearly nothing from the original Armada2 models or ODFs.. The asteroid belts, nebulas and so on are all new
12) we have redone the AI, so it is challanging without cheating. The Ai will use perimeters to defend it's base.
13) every vessel in Fleet Operations has its one purpose. Becouse of the different weapon types you will have to mix your vessels. Learn more about this in our informations section.

Lol ur right about 14 well i could ask it now
14,U removed the height from the game??? do u mean its like A1 KOOL i hate the Z axis it got in the way with a2 as it didnt look as if it belonged

14) Yes, it is like in Armada1-- the z-axis is only used in some cases (like forming up a fusion cube)
16) You won't need to build fighters. Eridian vessels launch them automatically to attack enemy targets.. this means you can't select or order fighters. You will be able to upgrade your fighter squadrons by researching assault bombers and the like.

that is really kool its like this other rts that did it Conquest frontier wars i like ur idea and it is making me want the mod even more

17) no, you can only use special maps with Fleet Operations. DOCa Cola has designed a very useful map editor wizard, which will allow you to build your own maps. See the FaQ for further information. ;-)

you can send us custom Fleet Operation maps, when it has been released. If we like them, they will be inclueded in the next beta

optec mixed up something, there is only a faq available in the fleet operations readme in the mod, but it is not ready for the page yet

Kool will the Map Editor be simple to use? also how and and wot has been done to planets? is there still coloniseation because i always thought that it should take alot longer to colonise except the borg and the piramid

I'm sorry to say there won't be planets in the first beta.
There is no colonisation anymore. in later betas planets will have the same effect like in armada1: increasing the crew accumulation rate on orbiting starbases
