Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Cause we are not sure about the build times for ships here is the poll for...

the borg build times for smaller vessels are a bit too high

The build times for all ships should be way higher. As should be the resource cost.

I have to disagree with dynamic, as any change made will have to be done to every race, thus making the change effect null (apart from making the game slower to play in general)

I would like to see that the crew on every ship gain experience, making their repairs quicker, rate of fire a little faster and so on. This would make a real change in game play, as it will be in your best interests to keep your ship alive and not just send in wave after wave.

:) Bingo!

The ships are still to disposable.
maybe the borg wouldn't gain anything, but everyone else should.

i think the build times are pretty good now, slowing them down might not really hurt, but it will make the game take longer.

True, but it will still make ships more valuable for all races, and building ships will take time, instead of just being able to build a hundred ships in a few minutes, and then just build a hundred more if they are destroyed.

In addition to what BlackMaster said, I think that the hit chance for beam weapons should also decrease againts smaller targets, since most ships use that kind of weapon.

amen to that. i'm getting tired of my b'rels getting wiped out in the first few seconds of a battle by all thsoe stuped fed, beam weapons :)

the beam type weapons do less damage then a torpedo or pulse type weapon.
for example the saber class does 2 damage per second
the b'rel class does 2,3 damage per second (to a medium vessel)

perhaps the beam-weapon damage will be reduced a bit more, to 'pay' for the ability to do the same damage to all vessels

Interesting to hear what other people think. the comments about this poll are more valuable than the poll itself...

When I play, I like to make the game harder and slow down the game speed. That makes the game more tactical, and allows me to better use the ships special features. It makes the tight battle very Woo-esque! It slighly decreases the need for slowing down the ship build time.

To really pull that off, though, ideally the first stuctures a player builds should be completed very quickly, or else the begining is just too boring, and I have to change speed mid-game.

Also, to make the ships tougher, you could give the bigger ships the equivelant of the regenerative capability (i.e. repair team), that uses up power quickly.

Yes all races would have this feature of gaining experience, however its up to the skill of the player to gain any in the first place. You can make it more meaning full to give experience in the form of credits for each ship and assign the credits to the skills you think are best. Like have one ship in your fleet being able to see further then others, have another be able to have longer range weapons, another have a higher rate of fire and a skilled player could make a small fleet last very long and do lots of damage by bringing these skills together. As the borg are drones they could have a slightly different system by having a collective credit poll for extra skills and assign the extra skills for all the borg ships in general as they are all linked to one mind type thing (but you would need lots more credits before you can buy a skill to keep balance)

I like the idea of making the beam hit likely hood lesser, as I find having lots of beam ships do more damage quicker. Also then as your crew gain experience the hit likely hood becomes greater.

I think it's all good now.

Borg small ships ARE a bit long to build, but even SMALL borg ships are more powerful than their other race counterparts.

I would suggest either lowering Tritanium costs accross the board or upping the ammount of Tritanium you start with. That is the one thing I always get irritated at, running low on Tritanium 3 minutes into the game.

one thing the borg small vessels Are too slow to build but Also the Bop is too unerpowerd and so is the other Bop

I think that the build times should be spread out more...ie the small ships should be quicker, and the larger ships should take longer......
