I don't know how many people play Star Trek Online. (I actually don't, but I read their wiki)  Anyways, they have this whole page all about the Iconians who are also in the game.

This ship there could be featured as a design. So far we haven't seen any Iconian ship designs other than their probes which will probably be in the game. So what do you guys think about it?

Wow Fralo you like to live dangerously mentioning that Star trek online game.
Most people here have a, to put it mildly, dislike for STO and their designers/designs.

I'm like that too. I hadn't checked it in a while, though, before the other day. I actually saw that, and while I didn't have the thought until I read this, it would be cool.

But, you'd probably be hard-pressed to find anybody who actually cares for STO and it's ship designs. I personally like them, but the larger part of this community hates STO. I'm not entirely sure why, because I don't see any problem with the designs, some of which are actually cool. I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Well I haven't been on in awhile. Besides, whats wrong with STO? It's reasonably cool. It's not a bad continuation of the series. But that's besides the point. I'm talking about the Iconians.

I keep trying to post but ya'lls posts overwrite mine. lol...

Edit: ok, I don't like star trek online, but I like the vesper, the excalibur, and the celestial....With a few changes, the saucers need to be thinner on the excalibur and the celestial, and the saucer on the vesper needs to be more round and traditional-ish looking. The nacelles on the celestial need to be longer and the vesper needs new nacelles period. I like the base ideas though.

whats wrong with STO? It's reasonably cool. It's not a bad continuation of the series.

It's plot sucks, it rapes star trek, it's ships are horribly designed blocky monstrosities that would look right in minecraft but not star trek, and it tries to tie into the horrible plot that was Jar Jar Abrams rape of star trek by having the warp speed supernova figure in one of the big quests (IE: you investigate and figure out some of who caused it).

In essence, it's space trek for autistics.

Well haters will hate. I personally like STO, altho it still feels unfinished its moving in the right direction. Definaely a lack of content, especially end game. And personally I think that Iconian ship does look cool.

Stock ships were nice, the 'lol omg custom' ones looked like crap.

I'm not a big fan of STO, but i dont hate it either.

Yet, i the Iconians should ever make it into FO, we will probably come up with a storyline and designes ourselves, as the FO storyline already contains a few bits and pieces of them They were actually once planned as a playable faction

I see that everyone hates the game, but I don't see what's so bad about the ships. And I'm not meaning the ships as they appear in the game. I mean, the ships as they appear on that one ship chart. I've never played STO, and with it being sus-based, I probably never will, but I don't see why the community hates the ship designs so much. They aren't bad, and I wouldn't hesitate to create them in a mod for Flops if I had any actual experience with A2 modding.

I've never played STO but i agree that some of the ships look good (the 3rd tier tend to be the more dodgy designs) but from what I've heard the more blockyness is due to extra amour since STO based on starfleet becoming more militaristic due to the aftermath of the dominion war and nemesis?

any the Iconian looks interesting.

Interesting body design there... a complete novelity in terms of race look for Star Trek. Reminds me a little bit of BSG style...  synthetic look that is... clean and mysterious.

I like it.
