Updated Star Traffic to V1.2

Changes are important in that the starbases are all now the correct distance from their native moons.  This should mean that no one's moons are too well covered by their SB's :D

Just released a new 1 v 1 called "The Pond".

I tried to combine my favorite parts of Champagne Supernova (The terrain), Early Bird (The Close Placement Setup), and Duel II's lane and expansion options.

I hope that everyone likes it!  This is version 1.0 so if pathing errors or difficulties, blocking errors, or clear imbalances come up please let me know what you think!

Looks interesting  . Dominion will probably have a bit of trouble getting a hold though.

Aye but I'm hoping that the double moon pairs in the corners will allow Dominion the option of going for them early since they are able to use their first-built constructor to expand :).

Able, true, but quite far away, so a generally bad idea - especially as they won't be able to protect the constructor on transit, nor able to protect that doublet in later stages of the game since that expansion is a very long ways away compared to other maps  :sweatdrop: . When just testing (timewise) how much it slows down Dominion strategy to get to there, it's not worth it  . Seems they are just a tad bit too far to me :)

Noted .

We'll see if it proves a problem for them.  ^-^

I found a bug for ya: On Duel II 1.2 as the romulans, I can't put my dilithium mining directly adjacent to my starbase. It looks there would be enough room, but there isn't. I haven't tested as other races or in the other starting positions yet.

On Star Traffic 1.2, yes there is a small problem with the Romulan Starbase.  It's only the Rommie one though so I really can't do anything about it.

Final Frontier II updated to Version 1.1!  :woot:

I'm very excited about this because people (including myself) have wanted to play it for a long time without success due to the Wormhole issue.  Nowadays it happens sometimes and not, so I recommend agreeing beforehand to either use it or not.

Changes:

Boy ....

Well I'm too lazy right now to go over a detailed list of changes.  Basically I updated it to fix a few balance errors and to make it conform to the lines we've all sorta drawn about maps in 3.1.5.  If you recall, FF2 I believe was made in 3.1 to take advantage of the faster movement speeds of interceptors :D.  That was a while ago!

Mutaras are gone.  Sorry.

Small bands of fluid nebula now replace the Mutaras.  Borg can and SHOULD use them to their advantage.  Don't just use the shield cutting property, but use the fact that you can go through and cut your travel time around an obstacle while shielded ships will have to go around.

All moons are now mathematically (or as close to it as possible) equivalent.  I feel that the map still has it's asymmetrical feel to it though ;).

Some terrain obstacles have been moved / adjusted in order to balance out the travel times and hindrances for top v bottom.  Careful attention was specifically paid to the areas around the wormholes so that the solo players are no longer at the whim of 2 or 3 man fleets popping out, crushing the exps and escaping.  Doing so now will be more difficult.

Green Nebulae were balanced to prevent massive fleets from abusing them.  The middle Neb is still large, but since it's the middle of the map it is actually not going to be as useful as it might seem.  Most battles actually take place around the wormholes or along the left/right walls, so the middle is often a place you'll find yourself out of position.

Good luck and have oodles of fun!  :woot:
