Absolutely love it. Right now my favorite ship is the Excelsior Mk II but this one would definitely be a close number 2 if release. I think it keeps in the spirit of the Federation's building habits. The Miranda class is essentially the centurion or picket ship of the federation and is deserving of a major redesign while keeping the essential elements that make it iconic definitely something you would expect the federation to build after the nightmare of the Dominion war.
I like what the mod team is doing here, the idea being that after a major upheaval the federation would want to go back to something familiar and traditional. Their build a new class with tested designs, ie the Miranda and Excelsior showing a healthy respect for where they have come from yet are willing to push the envelop of design. I would also speculate after the problems the Galaxy class had they might be resistant to deviate to far from established design, which has been tested in all conditions, be it war or exploration.
I look forward to seeing what else you come up with. I hope you consider something with the Constitution class as well, due to its iconic status. Though I mentioned this else where and will not detract from the topic at hand. Regardless I look forward to seeing them in action with the rest of the fleet. I am excited because I see this as a step toward a whole new fleet, where in all the TNG ships are phased out and we get to see a re-envisioned federation based on lesions learned from war. One gets the opinion that the Federation has sort of lost that early century innocence that the old D crew had which may have manifested due to such a long period without a major conflict.
