Ah, name. Probably wouldn't have that. They'd probably have some snarky comment about superiority in Romulan, though.

maybe if every romulan ship had the same marking, yeah. :P otherwise they wouldnt want numbers for every ship.

klingons didnt have it during canon as sisko couldnt count the klingon ships by registry when they kept cloaking and decloaking near ds9.

Klingon ships have something written on the hull, though that could easily be some kind of house motto or something.

then why didnt sisko just use them to count the ships? from the evidence the likliest conclusion (not one i personally want to be true) is that only some klink ships have unique markings (the times we see it) and most ships dont.

either way, by fo time they could all use something.

did you know that the big D has a romulan symbol in front of it? but in game it doesnt...  :crybaby:

Very nice, now all we need is ships losing pieces of their hull and maybe even leaking plasma when taking severe damage and we'll hav all the cool little details. :thumbsup:

Arash knowing all about Big Ds. Why am I not surprised? :P

This is a very cool new feature. I remember looking for registries in the past and thinking that it would be impossible to do with all of those possible names in FO. Great job guys!

Guess something good came from Legacy... Now we can (soon) have registries on the model, not just in the odf.

A quick thought, what level of priority does this have?

And the Romulans don't put names on the hull of their ships.

Nice little eyecandy thing.  :thumbsup: I like it! I recommend to change the lightning a bit now since there is writing present.

It covers almost the entire text. Still it's not important at all.

As for the Klingons and other factions. I don't think they should get any names simply due to the fact that we never saw any names on those ships in TNG , DS9 era series.

It would be still possible see this concept art for example.

But honestly it makes no sense especially due to the fact that people can't read the writings.

One thing is certain: Now you need many more ship names for feds or it'll get boring.  :whistling:

Modding technical you should put all ship names in one single file so that the names wont be ship type specific anymore. That way people also can easily add own names into it if they like.

This is a wonderful idea.  My only question is....for the modeling and texturing impared peoples (like myself), would there be a small tutorial or something in the readme that would point us in the right direction as to how I make textures and registries for the custom ships?  Or is there going to be...say...a blank template that one could just simply copy and paste, then edit to one's liking?

That's all.  Again, this is a cool idea.

If its like legacy, it shouldn't be to hard at all. ^-^  A toutorial wouldn't be hard to make either, however, if I understand correctly, it is simply a odf reference and a texture file, which shouldn't;t be too hard to do.
