One ship is really damaged! But luckily manages to use its ectoplasma "canon" to blow up yet another borg cube.

I'm not going to turn this into a pro/anti Janeway thread, but Sisko couldn't be there. He was "taken in" by the Prohpets.

As far as I'm concerned the Federation is at a respectable level. Powerful enough to have a full scale war against the Borg, but come out of a battle with substantial losses or damage.

If the Federation knew the Tereanans had Omega, they would probably disown them (if that's possible). It would definitely put a strain on relations, but Starfleet isn't nuts enough to fight the Tereanans for it.

Captain's Log, Stardate 12345.6

We've managed to limp back to a repair dock in friendly space. Once we make repairs, we will move to continue our hunt for that most cursed of villains....

"Spacedock Aphrodite, this is Captain Ahab of the civilian starship Longhorn. We are a Phallicus class vessel, requesting permission to dock for repairs. We've been chasing a pirate vessel and were ambushed near Waka-waka."

"Phallicus, we are keen to assist any vessel in need; however, we would require more detail as to this pirate and your intentions."

"Aphrodite, we were on a routine supply run near Orion 9001 when a large, white-painted Norexan-class vessel jumped into our approach lane. We were not fired on, however, our necessary evasive maneuvers took us into the path of a small asteroid. The impact took our replicators offline mere hours before my birthday celebration."

"There's an Orion over 9000? That's insane! Regardless, Captain, it sounds as if you've had quite the calamitous experience. I'm not certain that chasing a Norexan is the best course of action, but we will be glad to allow you to dock with us for repairs. We will require, however, that you enter spacedock slowly. No need for scratches on this beautiful dock of ours."

"Understood, Aphrodite. We thank you for assistance, and for your words of caution, but we will chase this White Norexan round perdition's flames before we give him up....Phallicus out."

I think it's hilarious. I just skim read the massive posts now though. I can easily get the gyst since I know the sort of stuff TCR says.

"...invincible armour...singularity....borg are really dangerous.....cubes destroyed..." etc. etc.

*****Captain's Log: Stardate 98957.1 - Adm. Petri - U.S.S. Hime*****
After watching the Federation border for the last two days we have finally caught a Zeggepian vessel attempting to enter Federation space. More importantly, they are carrying Omega.
*********
Captain: Hail them. Helm, be ready to go to transwarp immediately if it looks like their going to use their little super weapons.

Tactical: They're responding; on screen.

Captain: I am Admiral Paul Petri of the Federation Starship Hime. State your intentions in this sector.

Zeggepian Captain: This is General Dutjell of the Zeggepian Warship Vegaag. We are mearly passing though your space.

Captain: Really, and why should I believe you? We are well aware that a Zeggepian "weapon's test" destroyed a Federation science station, killed the fifty researchers on it, and we know you are carrying similar warheads right now. Who's to say you aren't on your way to destroy another of our outposts? You should be aware that such actions are justifiable cause for war.

Zeggepian Captain: You have no assurance but our word.

Captain: At the moment I'm afraid that's not enough. Unless you want a confrontation, I recommend you turn around and go back to where you came from. If your people want access to Federation space, I suggest you contact the Federation formally and explain yourselves. Have I made myself clear?

Zeggepian Captain: Perfectly.
Channel closed

Tactical: He's turning away.

Captain: Notify Starfleet and all vessels in the area. And keep tracking his vessel as long as you can. If it looks like he's trying to slip around us put us on an intercept course immediately. Something tells me the Zeggepians won't just take "no" for an answer.

TChapman500 wrote:Because the Tereanan's don't yet have reliable enough technology to use it as a power source.  Although they are trying.  But they certainly know how to neutralize it.  And they know how to reduce the damage done to subspace when it goes haywire.  They don't use it in their ships because it's much too dangerous.  Especially on the battlefield.  Plus, there's no telling what the Federation would do if they found out that the Tereanans were using Omega as a power source.

=== BEGIN ===

=== TSS Mountshining - Captains Log - Stardate 2404/042 ===

We have arrived at the starbase with a derelict Borg cube in tow and are beginning repairs to both vessels.  The cube will basically be turned inside out with most of the Borg technology being removed.  The Mountshining will be taking on supplies and torpedoes to prepare to re-engage the Borg and most likely, the Zaggepians.

Although it wasn't my intention to engage the Zaggepians, when they tried to fire their Omega torpedoes we were left with little choice.  The Zaggepians didn't seem to like the fact that we attacked the Borg despite being asked to withdraw from battle and they'll likely be back for more.  Their tactics seem to be to fire the Omega weapon and get out before it goes off.  A bit unsettling.

There has been no declaration of war yet, but I suspect that the Tereanan Empire will attempt to destroy the Zaggepian's singularity technology, which appears to be extremely advanced if they have it as a reliable power source even in battle.  And especially since they seem to use it as a conventional weapon.  Because of this, the Tereanan's may try to launch a preemptive strike to prevent them from using it again.  The Zaggepians probably won't use the Omega weapon in their space because of the damaging effects.  Their technology is most unsettling because the Borg is involved.  If they get their assimilation tubules on that technology, the Borg will become even more dangerous than they are now.

=== End Log Entry ===

Tactical:  Captain on the bridge.

Captain:  Any progress on finding out how those cubes just disappeared?

First Officer:  None.  We've used just about every specialized detection method at our disposal.  Even compensating for dispersal fields.  We've found nothing.

Captain:  It's unlike the Borg to just vanish like that.  Perhaps they were taken out of the battle by something else.

First Officer:  We detected what appeared to be subspace pockets most likely caused by the use of Omega during the battle, but our subspace scans aren't detecting anything.

Captain:  Hopefully, Tereanan Command assigned a ship to study it.  Once we're done at this shipyard, we should return to the blockade.

=== On Another Tereanan Ship (Assigned to study the pockets) ===

Tactical:  There is a ship emerging from one of those pockets.  It's Federation.

First Officer:  Funny, the Federation wasn't involved in this battle and they havn't been here at all after the battle.

Tactical:  They are powering weapons.

Captain:  Hail them.

Comm:  No response.

First Officer:  Shields!

=== To be continued... ===

=== And now, the conclusion ===

Tactical: Direct hit, armor is holding.  Shields are down to 90%.

Captain:  Return fire!

Operations:  Sir, that vessel looks like it has Tereanan technology.  Singularity power cores, chroniton torpedoes, neutronium armor, you name it.

Tactical:  They have a hull breach on deck 5.  Their shields are holding.

First Officer:  I don't think that's a Federation ship.  Look at those markings on the vessel.

A chroniton torpedo hits the starbard torpedo launcher and disables it.
Tactical:  We've lost our forward right chroniton torpedo launcher.

Captain:  Take out their main deflector and forward torpedo launcher, then bring us to the rear to hit their warp engines and rear torpedo launcher.

Operation:  Look at the registry on that ship!  NX-1701-C.
Sir, their deflector has been disabled.  We missed their torpedo launchers and got their dorsal phaser strip instead.

Captain:  Just keep them from escaping.  If we do enough damage, we may get some answers.

Tactical:  Phaser strip 4 has been disabled and there is a hull breach on deck 1, section 12.  Shields are at 75%.

First Officer:  Increase power to structural integrity.

Operations:  Sir, their warp engines have been damaged, but they are still operational.

Captain:  Fire a burst from the phasers at the starboard nacelle, then the port one, then hit their impulse engines.

Tactical:  Firing.
.
.
.
Direct hit, their warp and impulse engines are offline.

Comm:  Sir, we're being hailed.

Captain:  Finally!  Onscreen.

=== Channel Open to NX-1701-C ===

Tereanan Ship:  Captain, you have just committed an act of war against the Tereanan Empire by attacking our vessel without provocation.

NX-1701-C:  Your ship not being in our empire is provocation enough.  Now surrender before our reinforcements arrive.

Tereanan Ship:  Lieutenant, seal those subspace pockets!
You'll have a hard time getting reinforcements here now.  How did you get Tereanan technology?  How did you even get your empire back on it's feet!?

NX-1701-C:  That is none of your business.  You will surrender immediately.

Tereanan Ship:  You are in no position to make demands.  Reinforcements are coming and there is no way for you to get back.  I suggest you surrender.

NX-1701-C:  You'll have to find us first!

=== Channel Closed ===

Operations:  Sir, that ship is cloaking.

First Officer:  Tachyon scans!

Tactical:  Nothing!

Captain:  Graviton tachyon?

Tactical:  Still nothing!

Captain:  Subspace tachyon.

Tactical:  Nope!  Nothing.

Captain:  Fire phasers at random vectors, 1/10th yield.

The phasers fire for a couple of minutes and hit nothing.
Tactical:  Sorry, but we've lost them.

Captain:  Send a report to Tereanan Command of what happened and Federation Command.  Make sure you include the registry of the ship that attacked and our communications logs with that ship.

=== Tereanan 23rd Fleet at Construction Field 26 - Stardate 2404/045 ===

Tereanan Ship 1:
Operations - Sir, the Tereanan Blockade reports that 8 vessels just broke through the blockade.  They are Zaggepian, but the vessels are a different class than the ones we encountered before.  They're heading this way.  Those vessels had energy dampening devices on them.

Captain: - Acknowledged.  Inform the fleet.

Tereanan Ship 2:  They're in sensor range and heading straight for one of the Gimel Class yards.  It's the one building the Battle Barge!

Tereanan Ship 5:  We must protect that construction!

Tereanan Ship 12:  We've engaged the fleet of Zaggepian ships.  They're dampening our power system.  Our subspace containment fields on the power cores are failing.  The fusion generators are offline.

Tereanan Ship 7:  We're having a similar experience over here.  Our weapons effectiveness is down to 12%.  Shields are down.

Tereanan Ship 19:  I'm firing a volley of singularity torpedoes at the vessels.
.
.
.
We don't have enough power to fire anything!

Tereanan Ship 4:  They're dampening fields are aimed at the Battle Barge.  It's subspace containment fields are failing.

Tereanan Ship 1:  Do whatever is necessary to destroy those Zaggepian ships before...

=== Contact with the 23rd fleet has been lost ===

=== TSS Mountshining ===

The Zaggepians have destroyed one of our construction fields.  It doesn't look like they were able to escape the blast resulting in the large singularity explosion that followed.  With the subspace fields on the power cores down, there was nothing to prevent the explosion from getting out of hand.  Our last sensor readings indicate that the Zaggepians were trying to retreat when the containment fields wen't out, but failed.  Everything within 18 light-years of the field has been destroyed, including a good portion of the Tereanan blockade and 25 star systems.  As a result of the uncontrolled explosion, at least 12 black holes have formed in that region.  If any Zaggepian ships saw what happened, they will probably not attempt to use those dampening devices again.  Sensor analysis of the dampening devices ship that they are similar to what the breen used, but they act a lot more quickly than the Breen devices.  Countering them should be no problem.  On the other hand, how did the Zaggepians know which yard to hit?

On another note, the Tereanans have theorized that the 8 missing cubes somehow entered the subspace pockets at the battle area where the Omega weapon was tried.  And according to what the TSS Hammer told us, it is safe to assume that those subspace pockets were actually door ways into another timeline.  Their encounter with a Federation vessel from that timeline indicate that we may have a major problem on our hands if those subspace pockets are reopened.

Also, the Federation has increased their patrols along their borders trying to prevent Zaggepian ships from entering their space.  So far, they've done a good job.  And the Tereanan Empire has just declared war on the Zaggepians for their attack on the Tereanan construction field.  Tereanan Command has also ordered subspace mines to be placed along the Tereanan border that will neutralize the Omega molecules onboard their ships, then detonate with an extreme yield.  Another minefield is being placed for the Borg in case there are any more encounters with them.

=== END ===

ur words  u said pockets  ie more than one   i said pocket  ie one   just coz they start at one point doesnt mean the ALL end at the same point

if u want i can change it so only 2/3 cubes arive in my part (which i suppose is more likly if multipul pockets open only a few ships per pocket)

Don't do that; that's just silly (of course it's too late). Don't worry too much about what TCR's continuity issues, just play along as best you can and just fix yourself if you're off.

*****Captain's Log: Stardate 98958.5 - Adm. Petri - U.S.S. Hime*****
Things are starting to go down hill; quickly. The Zeggepian attack on the Tereanan fleet yard was extremely bold. My feeling is that it's only a matter of when not if they try the same thing on the Federation. What's worse, they do not seem to be interested in going through diplomatic channels of any kind; and on top of that, it's as if they have come out of nowhere and lack a clear goal. However, since their attack on the Tereanans we haven't seen so much as a warp trail from the Zeggepians. I don't know if they've gone back into hiding or are just calculating their next move.

The explosion of the Tereanan's yard has reeked as much havoc in one day as the Borg have in centuries. The Hime was hit by a Level 9 shockwave over 50 lightyears away, and at least a dozen other ships reported a similar encounter. Fortunately no ships were lost, but two did suffer serious damage. The explosion has shattered subspace in that entire sector and left the space-time continuum a mess. Until the aftermath can be fully analyzed, Starfleet has diverted all non-essential traffic and limited FTL travel within a hundred lightyears of the site to Warp 5 unless absolutely necessary and transwarp is completely off-limits. Of course warp is completely useless within 20 lightyears of the site anyways.

Alarm sounds

Tactical: It's some kind of feedback loop. They're trying to send some kind of signal back at us.
Lights and consoles start flickering. Alarms sound.

Ops: They're trying to hack us.

Captain: You have got to be kidding me! Moves to rear station. Begins frantically working Close the comm lines. Back us off.

Tactical: I'm trying, I can't cut it off.

Helm: I've lost helm control!

Captain: Damn it. Damn they're fast. Ducks down and pulls off access panels. Cortana get over here! Plug in. They've blown past two security layers already; we're going to have to do this from the inside. To TacticalLieutenant, you have command, do what you can and blow that ship to pieces.

Tactical: Aye, sir.

Captain:Fiddling with circuitry and chips. Cortana, you work on locking down the computer core, I'm going to try and redirect them.

First Officer:Places a device on her neck and hooks into it into the access panel Alright.

Captain:Nods Dive. Both go limp as they begin accessing the computer directly.

Tactical: Come about; put as much distance between us as you can. Fire aft torpedoes and quantum pulse launchers.

Ops: Direct hits to their shields, minimal effect. They're returning fire.

Tactical: Evasive maneuvers: pattern Epsilon 8.
Ship rocks with weapons hit

Ops: Direct hit to ventral shields. Shields holding.

Tactical: Offensive pattern Delta 6-7*. All weapons.

Ops: Direct hits. Their shields are down to 60%.
Ship rocks. Sparks fly.

Tactical: Keep it up.
=============
First Officer: Alright, I've locked down and encrypted the core. How are you doing?

Captain: Damn they move fast. They just blew past another barrier gate and two attack barriers. They've completely ignored all the redirects I've put up. They're looking for something very specific. Start building a barrier maze around Level 7.

First Officer: Already on it. What do you think they're after?

Captain: I don't know. The amount of tenacity they're showing suggests they're after something big... Ahhh..maybe...

First Officer: What? Did you figure out what they want? Barrier maze complete.

Captain: I bet they're after fleet deployments, key locations, stuff like that. Listen, start trying to back-hack them. With any luck we'll give them a surprise.

First Officer: I thought you'd never ask.

Captain: Well now, if it's fleet locations you want, it's fleet locations you'll get.
.
.
Yes! Yes! YES!

First Officer: Did they fall for it?

Captain: Hook, line, and sinker. I stuck a tracer virus on it. You should be able to use it to get a foot hold into their system.

First Officer: Or I already got in. Unlike us, they don't seem to think anyone would be brave enough to hack them. I got all kinds of juicy data. Don't worry, I was sure to quarantine it.

Captain: Ohh, that is why we love you.

Comm: Captain, the link is broken; they're making a run for it, should we pursue.
Both the Captain and First Officer re-assume their bodies. They stand disconnecting the neural link collars.

Captain: No, let them go. I put a tracer virus on the data they got, it'll cause their ship to light up like a super nova on our scanners. I want to know where they run to. Start on repairs, I'll inform Starfleet and the Tereanans of this little encounter.
Exits to ready room.

* - Offensive Pattern Delta 6-7: Unique to the Century class it rolls the ship so the ventral side faces the attacker allowing the ship to make use of the large number of phaser strips on the ventral side and unleash a phaser barrage. If performed slowly at close range, it can expose the attacker to as much as 20 or 30 seconds of near constant fire. This is usually followed by quickly "diving" towards or away from the attack in order to unleash the vessel's rapid fire torpedo and quantum pulse launchers.

===TSS Mountshining - Captains Log - Stardate 2404/047 ===

Well, I don't suppose I have to say what a disaster this last engagement was with the Zaggepians.  This is the biggest disaster in the history of the Tereanan Empire.  There's no telling how many ships, stations, and collonies we lost, but one thing is for sure.  The damage is massive.  The Tereanans are trying to launch a rescue operation in the affected areas but is being slowed down by the fact that we can no longer use warp drive in the area.

We, along with about 100 other ships are using logs from the network to try to figure out how many ships and stations were lost.  It is doubtful that the Zaggepians will use that dampening device on the Tereanans again because they can't escape.  Tereanan ships are being pulled from the Gama Quadrant to assist.  We're overdue for withdrawing those extra vessels anyways.

To prevent the Zaggepians from trying something like that again, the Tereanan blockade, or what's left of it, has been ordered to put up subspace barriers along the Tereanan border.  Hopefully, nothing will be able to penetrate these borders without first opening up doorways in the barrier.

Tereanan Command is thinking that the temporal caos in the affected area can be used to our advantage.  The Federation won't like it though.  The Tereanans have tested the methods used to counter Breen dampening devices in holodeck simulations based off of the sensor readings of that engagement.  They look promissing.  Boy the Federation isn't going to like this one bit.

The Zaggepians seemed very interested in Federation ship movements.  Their last engagement with the Hime suggests that they might try something similar to this on the Tereanans.  Therefore, the computers have been locked out with a Level 50 encryption code.  And if they try to create the link, they'll end up getting their computer cores contaminated with antimatter.  And let's hope that we can get out just incase the vessel doesn't survive the experience.
