[STO] Assimilated Undine
What's your favourite episode? How is romulan ale brewed? - Star Trek in general :-)

I would have to say that this type of thing wouldn't be entirely impossible for the borg, just extremely difficult. The process would most likely involve having to capture an undine without it destroying itself (or the amazing number of drones it would take), finding a way to establish a collective link without the nanoprobes, and hoping its body wouldn't reject the other bits of borg tech. But really I'm just making a theory here so please don't criticize me

Actually that's thought too much

Voyager tried to bring that back, but failed because Tuvok annoyed the audience too much while Janeway pointed a gun at our heads, ordering us to watch the show
I think the one thing we should learn from Voyager is that Starfleet + Coffee = Awesome. You know, Picard could have been a lot more badass with coffee instead of earl grey.

Coffee is probably why Janeway's a mentally unstable, deranged tyrant...

Yes, but if you took Picard and gave him Janeway's coffee addiction all you would have to do is tell him that the Collective had the only source of coffee left in the galaxy and then the Borg would be wiped out inside of a month.

My biggest problem with STO right now is most of the missions really arent very imaginative inside of the star trek universe. Typical MMO stuff, go here kill x-number of ships, not really taylored to Star Trek. Maybe its because im not very far inside of the main storyline. Ive had one that was pretty fun it involved making a serum to counter act a sickness that your crew got.

It would be nice for a few missions to take place on your own ship, like you have to eliminate some breen intruders who have taken the ship with a mini shuttle or something so mini photon torp them to death.

There are. Well, not in the official game, but there are some awesome foundry missions.
And if wanted, I`ll upload a few pictures from a partly assimilated undine.(Well, the mission was annoying)

If you really complain about this kind of stuff, you should keep in mind that compared to other MMO's the STO-missions are usually more complex than "kill xxx enemies".
I played Cabal until my char got level 44, and whenever I got a mission it usually was like "kill 60 XY, kill 75 XX".
On Star Trek Online, the "destroy enemy squad"-objectives usually range from 4 to 10, which is much more bearable. After that the missions usually go on with either an away-mission or some technobabble-stuff, which is showing off at least some complexity. Which is also far more than I expected when I began to play.

i must say that i do think that the borg could Assimilate 8472 ......perhaps they came across a dead 8472 or perhaps they have advanced there assimilate process. in any case ..... i think the idea of the borg making 8472 in to a drone is the part i have a hard time with ..... physically there would be problems with the size of 8472 and i think the borg would be more interested with there DNA more then having another drone that cant fit in its alcove lol

Silly Question: To finalize one mission i have to decrypt some date from the Tal Shiar in my ready room/conference room.
Where can you find your ready room/conference room?

The one on your ship? There should be 2 doors on the bridge; one to a Turbolift going to other decks, 1 leading to your ready room.

How do you get inside your ship?

just stumbled across this thread on my regular visit - had to log in for it.
first, with the bridge thing - the arrow symbol button on the lower right of the minimap, theres the "visit the bridge", where you can switch the instance to take a look at the ships interior and walk around, which is also explained in that particular mission.
regarding the game in general.. i think its somewhat safe to say that its "softcanon", since cryptic got a lot creativity on their hands due to the set time the game takes place, but cbs is watching the developement and certain things like ships n episodes which has to get doublechecked first, since they are the owner of the rights of the ip.
and that particular episode "assimilation" of the undine season of the games storylines, falls into that category of softcanon. since the first encounter of the undine in voyager they started wanted to assimilate that species, but couldnt - but we all know the borg will adapt to situations, so they wont just sit back trying to destroy them. which is why the player has to stop the attempt of the collective to assimilate species 8472 to savve the day.
on a sidenote - i think if cryptic would had comeup with a 8472-borg out of nowhere as a permanent addition to the collective in the first weeks, they would had the chance to meet cbs law department in an instant.
