hi I was working on readding the PDP and noticed that it seams to be causing CTD is there a reason for this and could it be fixed

I can confirm the PDP classlabel has not worked since 3.1.1. I'll recreate the crash also if needed (as well as the other error Blade found with the biobeam that I did and need to recreate still  :sweatdrop: )

ok afta further testing the pdp seams to work ok but if the ship equipped with it is destroyed or apparently ranks up then it ctd :S also appears pdp on a vessel with transit rift (a weapon the allows the vessel to generate a persona wormhole to travel thru) causes ctd

Destruction and Rank-Up both destroy the original ship, except rank-up creates a new one to replace it, so the PDP implementation must be keeping a reference to the original ship that is not updated.

this should usually not be a problem, as vessels with the pointdefenselaser got destroyed in stock armada 2 a whole lot too ;). the pointdefenselaser hasn't been modified in fleet operations at all, it may some be some change on the general weapons code that causes the crash. i'll analyze the problem later today and report back. thanks for testing this out

ok kool altho in the testings i have also noticed that the pdp targets pulse phasers is this because they now share the same class label as torps?

yes, i plan on adding an option to define which ordnances the pdl can target

sounds gd could a hit chance be included (just to help make it less of an uber weapon)

Yes!!  hitchance!  and ontop, make it so you can use sprites other than phasers, like, ohh I don't know, pulses, flak cannons...ect. :woot:  I hope So, cause then I can get a realistic flak working on my battlestars that will target missile aswell as fighters!! :woot:

I would prefer the regular special energy cost and reduced range over a hitchance...

more realistic if it has a hitchance (if u can miss a ship/station then u deff can miss a torp
