Ok, I run on Vista Ultimate.
I have freshly installed A2. Then installed patch v1.1 and then v1.25.
Then installed FO via the FO3 installer, and then installed patch v3.0.7.
No matter what way I try to run it (with compatibility modes for XP sp2 and 98), it just shows a black screen.
It makes the sounds but thats it.
I've read other posts on the matter and not come across this problem.
Though on that note, I have full admin account and UAC is disabled.
No clue what the trouble is

Also, try not installing Armada First. Just do a clean install of Fleetops using 3.0.7 and point it to the Armada CD when it asks. It already has all the necessary patches.

If you went to the trouble of installing all that, you might have made sure that stock Armada II works first.
Still, patch 3.0.7 doesn't need any previous installation. Actually, it's important NOT to install FO over a stock (patched or not) Armada II. Just use the 3.0.7 install program and the multimedia patch afterwards. Nothing else. Just make sure the stock Armada II CD is accesible to the install program.
The patch is so big because it contains anything it needs to install.

I'm sure you mean patch 3.0.6 DarthThanatos. 3.0.7 is not standalone

You are right.
First install 3.0.6, then 3.0.7 and then the multimedia files. My bad.

Sorry for the long reply time.
Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1
Hewlett-Packard
HP G70 Notebook PC
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
3068MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GE

Yea A2 works by itself. Had much fun playing with it when I found it again. Went online to find some mods for it and found you guys
Ok, uninstalled A2, and everything else. Did exactly what you said;
install 3.0.6 then 3.0.7 then the media pack
and still black screen

Hmm, sometimes installing in my documents works better, not sure if that might solve your issues. Some people have issues installing in the program files using Vista... but don't know. Sounds like a strange probelm either way

I know how doing that helps in Vista (I'm a former computer tech), however it isnt what the problem is. I've got a feeling it's possibly something to do with the gfx.

I run it on vista ultimate just fine. I know that some other people have had problems with other programs interfearing with FO. try looking in to that

Strange update.
Got it to partially work in windowed mode rather than full screen.
Any ideas?

So you hear sound? and you have black screen than.
I think that you playing on the primary screen instead of the secondary
i use two screen's xD and if i load the FO
my secondary is working and the primary is a black screen
I think your option to change in relation to your screen with secondary and the primary screen
than you must change the options in Graphic settings
Or you must change the Graphic settings al little lower
But for install the FO
install just A2 without the update ect. and than you install FO V3 3.0.6 ant than the FO V3 3.0.7

If u can access the graphic options for FO via windowed mode try changing the graphic settings IE: resolution and detail levels. I know people who have had to change the graphic detail to medium or high to get FO displaying properly. Also maybe posibly your notebooks monitor does not support any of the resolutions that FO does....Hope you get it sorted out.

do you have multisampling (AA) activated? if so, try to disable it. when do you get a black screen exactly?
