Talk about anything related to old versions of Armada.

it would have been less painful if crew wasnt used as a second health bar. every weapon wiped out ridiculous numbers of crew.
Yeah A1 campaign was so much better and memorable. A2 just blew hard. I never knew what story was. I aslo usually got bored mid way through.
I remember that level, It sucked the first time I played it lol. In the end I had to just send the galaxy to the base and use my fleet to hold off the borg little did I know there were more borg ships in waiting. Had to play it a second time using better tactics - I manged to breeze through the second time.

Yes that Spock mission was a pain in the butt. But apart from that the campaign was very enjoyable. I loved the missions were you started off with only a couple of ships and increased your numbers by capturing enemy ships and stations like a Dominion shipyard and started producing bugs. Fun. I replayed the game about 12 months ago now and really enjoyed it.

You mean the missions like the one with the Avenger escaping from Toral? That was a great mission.

My personal fav was the son'a mission, right before the toral one. just plain awesome.

Yeah I really enjoyed all the npc ships you could capture throughout the game. Brought so much replay value to the game. Alas my new computer is too new to play armada
Another mission I really enjoyed was the roman Borg team up to destroy toral. I always sent my fleet into the Borg base and built up in their base with turrets and warbirds everywhere lol as soon as the Klingons were destroyed and the Borg become hostile their whole base would go boom in under a minute

The A1 campaign was far superior to A2's, and part of that was the wealth of NPC races in the game. Dominion, Son'a, Breen, Species 9341, all those little unplayable factions just made it all the better.
Shameless advertisement, but since the subject of NPC races was brought up might I recommend trying my total conversion mod for FO called Sigma? Virtually every map has NPC races and wildlife.... not to mention it's using megadroid's mission mod.
Sigma mod for Star Trek: Armada II - Mod DB
I've been really trying to get a multiplayer base out of the grand shadow that FO casts.

it was. and if u cheated for dilithium you could get a fleet of defiants. didnt matter since toral was invincible.
my laptop is pretty new, but it plays a1 fine on win7. running a1 on recent computers is a tricky thing, some computers can, some cant.

a good strat, you do get less money from the moons as you share them, but it leaves you in a strong position. but the klingon counter attack seems to come down that funnel on the left, near your starting spot. best to put at least one sb there, and some assorted turrets. or a fleet if you have one laying around.
my preference was to save up for a phoenix ship just for fun, then use my fleet of shield stealing birds to take down the klingons, and phoenix the borg just before killing the last klingon station. then the new rom fleet that decloaks can handle the remaining borg.
the warbird was op in campaign cos of its incredible special. corbomite and that big gun of the neggie were not as useful. seeing as it was easy to waste firepower from the neggie torps. the big d only used the energy it needed. and it kept your fleet's shields healthy without needing to run home and repair. whenever i had the choice of ships later game i went for romulan tech to get warbirds.

My personal favorite was the borg mission in which you only had locutus's cube, 2(I think) other ships and not enough dilithium to build much of anything. You just went around assimilating fleets and ship yards with the cube.

That would be such a cool mission, i just hope something comes of this mod because its been at least 3 years and still nothing to show for it.

I'm just wondering, how does this mod have nothing to show for itself?

Because I am apparently quite slow moving.

He's on about me and how I've not released yet. He does have a point, I have been a bit slow.

All the missions from A1 mentioned earlier on the previous page I too enjoyed, especially that Borg one where you have to assimilate and decommission to get resources.
Megadroid, I know you did a mission of the first Armada 1 mission "Premonitions", when you finish this up and release it are you planning to re-do the Armada 1 campaign for A2/FO to show us what this mod is capable of?
