Cardassians - again I know but...

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Hi everyone, this is my first blast at a post so if it's screwy - you know

I would love to see the Cardassians as a full race - I have read what's been said but please don't rule them out completely Fleet Ops gods. I really think they could work in a balanced and consistent way here's how:

The big 3:
Galors come in threes. Cardassians favour the number three and though there ships have been shown to be weaker just cheapening them would lead to spamming so how about three at once? possibly as one unit
Alternatively building two of some things could gift a third for free

Mining:
Cardassians stip mine forcibly so how about better miners I'm thinking faster moving mining ships and armed more expensive mining stations

Avatars:
Military Gernal X - giving a general ship durability bonus
Cardassian politician - Rebuild focus (shorter build times)

A plan within a plan leading to a trap:
An enthasis on devious bonuses like fake ships*  that make any opponent unsure where the real force is
*These would be very fast to build but super light on defence, weapons and crew - but they could retain special weapons albeit at a greater cost in energy.

Anyhow that's how I see it any thoughts

Welcome to the forums

I like your ideas and I agree that the Cardassians should play some part in this game. I don't think they have been completely ruled out I also don't think there are plans to implement them in the near future.

In the meantime Keep posting my friend, i'm sure the FO team has something awesome in store... as always.

Optec mentioned there were plans to get them in the distant future - version 5 or later.

but if ever they get in, I for one would like to see the 2 avatars as
1. Cardassian Military remnant
2. Cardassian Detapa Council.

As images we can have Dukat for the military (the way we have WEyoun for the dom pure tech), and Garak for the Detapa council.

I don't think the Carsassians were ever a part of FO. although I can't say for sure because I didn't really start playing until 3.0PR. So at that point not even the borg had been fully implemented again.

I think we should see the Obsidian Order Avatar with more emphasis on stealth and also Section 31 for the feds... although I can't remember if the Obsidian order was done away with by the time of the Dominion Wars.

After the Obsidion Order/Tal Shiar attack before the War, the Order was destroyed entirely by the failure.

The Order is gone, but they were replaced by the Cardassian Intelligence Bureau (later joined by Dominion security) who were just as good, if not better.

How about this for the Spoon Heads.

Cardassian Ships:
Hideki Class Cardassian Fighter
Rabol Class Destroyer
Makur Class Destroyer
Veracidor Class Strike Cruiser
Tonga Class Torpedo Cruiser
Atarek Class Frigate
Bakrus Class Battlecruiser
Galor Class Light Battleship
Dalmak Class Fighter Carrier
Keldon Class Battleship
Ravinok Class Heavy Battleship

Cardassian Stations:
Nor Starbase
Ore Dock
Union Shipyard
Union Research Facility
Sensor Array (Preferably the one from Dominon wars. That one was interesting)
Plasma Array (aka Turret)
Military Shipyard
Military Institute
Cardassian Intelegence Institute

Avatars:
Legate Garrak:
- Grants the Talim Class Destroyer
- Grants the Hutet Class Super Battleship
- Increases Galor Offensive by 3
- Increases Keldon Offenive and System by 3
- Decreases Military Institute Research times by 15%

Legate Parn:
- Grants the Detapa Class Battleship
- Grants the ability to Upgrade Keldon's engines
- Increases All Destroyer and Cruiser Offensive by 2
- Increases Hedeki's System Value by 2 and grants it Tachyon Detection Grid
- Decreases Intellegence Institute Research Costs by 10%

That is basically the best you can get. These were all offered through A2files if you don't know them. So go ahead, this is as much of the Cardassians I think FO would put in. Plus they are all really good ships. At least to me they are.

Yet again, another thread about this.

The dev team have already stated they have their own plans for how the Cardassians will be done. Wait and see.

Forgive me, but I don't think we should have an avatar composed 95% of non cannon ships. With that in mind, if the Cardassians are brought in (and when?) the fleet ops team will most likely design a large portion of their fleet from scratch which I think is a better idea. I still have a hard time seeing how the Cardassians could possibly have the fleet strength to be a threat during this time, lol.

But I would like to emphasize that this is not a new discussion and although I adore cardassians and would probably play them frequently, Atlantis has a good point.
