But seriously, here’s the real news: after an extensive chat with Optec, he’s decided to allow me to post a little about the upcoming Federation redo that you’ve all been waiting for (he just hasn’t had the time himself).
Why should you believe me? Simple really. The reason that Dominus (that jerk) isn’t posting this is that he’s away for the day and asked me to do this. Don’t worry, I’m sure he’ll be back later, more annoying than ever before .
Abilities: the Feds will be getting a lot of new abilities to complement their new role in Fleet Operations, to be more in line with how they play out in the “real” Star Trek universe.
First up, “Psychotic Prisoner Release”
The Feds have always been known for their strong desire to keep those bad guys locked up. Well, all prisons have their maximum capacity, and the Federation’s are no exception to this rule. Ever wondered what happens when you couple long life, loads of special drugs, and remove the death penalty?
This ability (available from the Outpost by a buildable extension called “Angosian Lunar V Penal Colony Transit Authority”) will allow you to send a dastardly prisoner to any enemy vessel throughout the sector due to Scotty’s new Transwarp Transporter Technology (available at the Dyson Sphere structure). The prisoner will begin causing general havoc, destroying all that is around him. The attack has a chance to disable engines, life support, and will kill 10% of the enemy crew (before the prisoner is finally caught).
Second, “Genetic Engineering”
The Feds decided to go back to their age old experimentation, as we witnessed in many TNG shows, as well as a few Enterprise and of course our most famous TOS movie (Khaaaaan!). By using this research (available at the new research station – noìTaredeF saäbMud [it’s a Vulcan station I’m told]) some of your units will spontaneously blow up or revert to player 0 control. After, you may observe a terrific fire fight as they try to destroy each other after targeting some Map Event Klingon NPC’s, which will then proceed to automatically capture your science stations and create their own supersoldiers!
Third “Section 31 (subsection: 5u5p3ns!0n_0f_d15b31!3f)”
Using this research in the Starfleet Science building causes your ships to gain a phase modulated redundant core energy beacon cloak (with modular singularity of course) and mount alien technology. What technology is used depends on the ships – Galaxy Class starships are of course armed with a unique and deadly ‘crowbar’. The Promiscuous Class starships can still use their multi vector assault mode once the research is used, but only if the improbability field had not been first implemented (a new unbelievably cool update I will talk about tomorrow). However, due to the sensitive nature of this information, your game will automatically minimize to prevent you from watching the events unfold. Of course, you may observe the Admiral’s log – with the proper entries blacked out of course.
I’ll continue these updates over the next few days – just thought to let them soak in a bit. Optec might add something as well to this, so pay close attention
Remember, the cake is NOT a lie . That was a rumor spread by stupid childrens.

Errr, it clearly says "NotDominus" - how much more plain can you get? This is obviously my account - not Dominus_Noctis (may his corpse be poked with chopsticks for eternity)
Oh, and inside sources also tell me the Photonic Cannon will make an introduction sometime soon

Well, I heard Optec said he was going to add transphasic torpedoes to the borg mixed-tech Intrepid class. Also, every class and variant of every ship we've seen in star trek will be added to the feds tech tree.
And because of popular demand, all warp in ships will be buildable. Also, there will be a stat increase on the Galaxy class, to make way for the fact that the saucer separation has finally been included! Galaxy class starships are now twice as fast as any ship.
Also, the sovereign class will receive an offensive value increase, making its offensive value 90 at rank 1, to make it more in line with canon.
And let me take this time to say thank you, Mal. Your tactical genius and prowess on the battlefield is truly a sight to behold. You will forget more strategy than most people will ever learn. I salute you, sir!!!!!!!

Why thank you, Imnotmal. Clearly you are a man of good judgement and fine taste. I'm sure that with practice and training, you too will rise above the ranks of mere mortals and find yourself on Olympus with the Elitist Faction whose only goal in life is to crush the dreams of lesser men. You also seem to be one that can take a good joke. Happy April the 1st.
