Don't know if I did something wrong with the installation or maybe it's because I only play against AI - but the Dominion Bomber seems to be incredibly strong. Already a handful of them is enough to bring down most ships with the first strike and with the help of some bugships even starbases go down rather quickly.

Keep up the good work, I like it so far, especially the implementation of an easy mixed tech system :).

Hey Tryptic when you done the mod can you post a link here so i can download thanks bud.

P.S keep up the good work and nice to see you keep us up to date on info :D

O and if you have time wanna post some of them 30 or so replays you have on that PC or yours thanks.

Status Update:

I have just finished updating the Romulan AI, the last of the 5 races to be done. My To-Do list is getting pretty small these days, but I also don't have much time to work on the Mod. I'm planning for the next release of Tryptic's Mod to be the last one, something that will last a long time hopefully.

And so, I've decided it's time for me to reach out to all the people who helped test this mod and gave me valuable feedback. If any of you are still out there, I'd like to take this chance to honor your involvement in our little community.

The way I am planning on doing this is by giving special ship names to people who have helped me over the years. For example, ShadowdeGrey has helped me immensely, and for his ship he chose the Klingon B'rel. Now, in Tryptic's Mod, whenever you build a B'rel warship it has about a 1/10 chance of being named "Shadow's Interceptor".

Our community is small, and I think everyone who has been a part of it deserves to have something to be remembered by. If you would like a special ship name, please send me the ship type and the special name that you would like, either in this thread or in a PM, and I'll put it into the mod for you :D

Note that the original dev team, and people who have been incredibly helpful to the Mod will get a special ship name whether they speak up or not. But if you don't tell me what ship you want, I'll have to pick for you :lol:

Finally, even if you're relatively new to Fleet Ops, don't worry. If you'd like to check out Tryptic's Mod and just tell me what you think of it, I'll consider that enough. Just by finding us and enjoying the game, you're already in a pretty small group :thumbsup:

It's still a test version, there are a couple tooltips that need fixing, along with hotkeys and the Borg AI tweaks.

Once I'm done with that though, it'll be feature complete :woot:

Heluuuu!

Playing against Borg AI.... They have no miners really... They're ships are building super quick... They are building ships well in advance of the resources they would need...

There has to be a bug. Even collective connections can't acrew that fast?!

AI Borg, by nature, have a habit of breaking the usual rules. While a player using the Borg would have the build an uplink, then select a chassis for a resource and collective connections cost, then select their module configuration and build the ship, the AI Borg simply build an AI variant of the uplink, which then builds the Borg vessels without the resource or connections costs associated with selecting a Borg vessel chassis. That not only makes their vessels cheaper, but eliminates their need for collective connections entirely. It's not exactly an ideal system, as it makes the Borg AI a little unfair, but I think it's the best that can be done... for now, anyway. :-\

Regardless, if you want to slow the Borg down to something more manageable, I'd recommend you make sure the Borg AI "player"(s) are on normal difficulty, and if that isn't enough, make the AI Build Cost and/or Build Time modifier(s) a little further to the "easy" side, as that will slow them down. Just keep in mind that that will slow all the AI forces down, so if the other AI "player"(s) end up being too weak, you might want to up their difficulty a bit, but that's up to you. :D

All of the AI are terrible at mining, so for the most part they ignore resources. If you want to control the strength of your enemies, I recommend always setting them to Hard or Merciless and then adjusting the AI build time slider. That is the only number that truly affects them.

Difficulty I have is getting my Borg (well, ISC, but, they use the Borg method of resource gathering) to do anything quickly. You'll have to teach me how you did it :lol:
