But but but but but .....

I don't think they did.  I think the green moons in that first screenshot are simply Planets in the far background that happen to be arranged like planet would likely be.

Yeah, the green "moons" are actually planets on a few maps in FO: just check the objects in the map editor if you wanna see :)

I cannot believe how gorgeous this game looks. The models, the textures, the effects...

Fingers crossed this patch gets delivered to us as a present for Christmas? New Year's? Orthodox Christmas?

I was hoping that 3.0.8 would be out already, but I have patience.

Just a thought.  Perhaps, you can have the moons slowly orbit planets?  That would be most appropriate to reality.  It would also be harder to place defences to "trap" moons within a secure defense parameter.  It could also be possible to have the star move around a central edge of the map.  What that would do is create the effect that the planets are in motion, when in fact, your are just changing the light/shade effects, andyou might be able to hide behind planets/moons even if you do not have a cloaking device.  Just a thought.

That would be cool but I would still be able to hold moons in a sucure defense parameter.

Well, yes, but you would have to have a lot of defensive turrets around the plants/moons path to do so.  It would be very resource intensive, but I think that is the point.  It would make things a little more difficult.

Do you know when 3.0.8 will be out?  Anyone with any guess on when it will be out?

At this point it's looking like christmas or later. Devs might be feeling like Santa or something. Or maybe just so much final polish it's taking them a while.

It's in the testing phases, as all features have been finalized. Once testing is complete, you'll have it :)

Thanks Dominus!!!!

What about my moon orbiting planets suggestion?  Does that sound like a future addon???

I'm afraid not.  I believe the devs have already stated that planets will stay background objects.

not to mention that moving/orbiting map objects, like asteroids or moons is impossible in a2. I know that moving asteroids worked in a1, but it doesn't work in a2.  you could do it as a an animation, but the shipscould not mine the moons.  they would have to mine the animated planet with the moons(edited rings) oribiting round it.
