Yes, but fortunately, there is always an answer, I've found, to those superweapons.

Unfortunately, to use the Templar as a continuing example, I ended up giving the impression that I was doing it too.  But I never researched Psychic Storm.  Instead, my Templars turned into Archons, who marched in, laughed at the pitiful little men, and tore down everything around them...but that was easily answered by the Terran Science Vessel, etc.

Looking at the interface, I noticed weapon systems where suddenly separated --> Akira or Sovereign: Phaser and Torpedo.

Does that mean, cloaking systems will now be separated from the weapons systems, meaning you can knock out a ships weapons, but it can still cloak and visa-versa?

Nope.  The phasers and torpedoes have always been seperate files for a ship, but they get added along with some other things to make up the offensive value.  They've always had different shot times as well, but now you can see when each weapon is ready to fire.  The cloak will still be tied into the weapons system as far as I understand it.

Yeah, that's what I am led to believe as well - the interface will be changing, and many ships will get new passives and bonuses, but the way systems and "weapons" are organized and effect each other will remain the same.

In theory, the new update. But I think the devs are truly making sure this one works perfectly, so don't count on it being this year  :(

I think the new interface is awesome, but I do have some concerns. I like adding the warp-in vessels to be build-able. Will the warp-in vessels contain build buttons to match the new interface? As far I know there not really needed, so I was wondering if they were included.

Sadly very difficult unless you wish to move to Stuttgart: hard to beta test from such a great distance (which such a weak connection) when the version changes half a dozen times a day or more  :sweatdrop:

Well I'm sure they have a final release version, that is tested before going public. I may be wrong though... which they could always host and get testers.  :whistling:

We will just have to wait for the public release...  :D
