Look, without mincing words on so irrelevant a topic, no one is arguing with whether mal or zebh or even dom did a good job to improve the forums.
no one is disputing that the thread was assumed by all of us to be for the greater good of the forum.

However, the entire approach by 3 specific members who hijacked the thread and in every post attacked members who were asking for more time to contribute was what IS problematic.

Do not try to play the holy virgin mary here. The entire demeanor of those 3 specific individuals is the root of my contention.

You will notice that I have not spoken a word as long as thsi competition was on, as it never interested me.

but I have been watching the fun.. and it appears that 3 big members seem to fancy themselves to the extent that they use every post to attack what seems not to suit their egocentric points of view, and have the temerity to express outrage when other members are merely facetious with them.

It is that specific attitude problem that I find to be problematic.

so please leave the clichés for the university term papers.Read the complete context of the entire competition before claiming "good deeds that go punished" or Mary Queen of Scott's "abdication of my place".

Well, you are probably right serpicus, but I is extremely annoying that all begun from my post when I tried to be constructive. Well, I won't discuss about this subject any further. This has been extremely frustrating I want to be totally out of this and have nothing to do with this any longer.

I quit this competition.

No hard feelings for anyone but I just don't want to be in this competition any more. I would not enjoy that game.

It was not my intention that you drop out. None of my posts were directed at you. In fact my last post before Baron's entire ranting tirade was that the competition at this time was well concluded and that you and the other 3 players absolutely positively earned your spots. refer to the other thread.

My final words were that the mods could hold a more organized competition for 3.06 as the gameplay would change in that release.

The entire tirade for which I am also to blame was in the heat of the moment when Baron ignored that lat post and carried on about how his thunder was being stolen.... >:(...

I would urge you to reconsider your decision. You deserve every bit of your win for sure.

Actually, this competition is pretty much concluded. The contestants did a good job, and the winner has certainly earned his right to play. 

I would however request that the devs have one more so that those who were left out do indeed get a chance.

Perhaps for version 3.06 since that version will have gameplay changes.

I do not participate in these competitions - dont want college deja vu.... lol...
but for those who did feel left out or unfairly sidelined, a second opportunity would be fair recompense...

wouldn't you agree?

From the posts it seems there has been some misunderstanding. I did not want to be the focal point of this pointless argumentation, which is why I withdrew my candidacy.

However, from what is being said, and after reading all the posts on this subject, I do not want to give up the unique opportunity of playing against the mods, over a silly argument as has transpired.

I wish to still continue in the competition.

I also apologise for my childish behaviour, this silly argument made me just so annoyed.

First things first, if there is a tie for the 2nd spot both will play in the game and I will fall out. I think its only fair, if I promised you something that I should keep my word. I know you were supposed to be my partners, but how the hell could I do that to someone who busted his ass making something for FO

Secondly, Zebh and the others who want to quit the competition. I would really rather you dont. Fact of the matter is, the rules were known from the first day and were known to everyone who actually read the thread. Even if you have 1 guy complaining 2 days overdue and another one taking on the role of his lawyer, you cant let that stop you now. All of you have made an absolutely great job on your posts and you deserve something for it, dont let others get you down, because they were lazy or they like to argue.

And serpicius: I dont want to argue with you, eventhough you do try your damndest to make me out an egocentric retarted fool. Id just like to point out a couple of things, the majority of the members here have defended my actions and all 3 competitors said that it was the competition that motivated them to create their masterpieces, so something good actually did come out of this.
Saying the deadlines were unreasonable is IMO not true, they were the same for everyone and if someone thought about it before does not give him at an unfair advantage IMHO. The competition was as much about finishing your projects than it was about creating new ones. And I trully am sorry ray didnt have the chance to enter the competition, but look, I have already said over here and in the competition thread that I dont expect whole books to be published but more minimalistic things as well. Do you trully, in your head and heart believe that ray could not create a thread about an idea he had or about a strategy he uses. I have already pointed out that, in that time, he created a thread that is more than long enough to enter the competition and he has also played numerous games during that time.
Now if I have offended you in any way, I am sorry but I do hate it when people critisize  me for something I created because I thought it would do good to the whole community. If you think that picking out playpartners in this way is just wrong, well then I didnt actually know I could offend somebody this way.
Oh and one more thing. You say we call ray an idiot every chance we get and whatnot, but at the same time you insult almost everyone who doesnt agree with you. Maybe you do it in a clever way, a way you think makes you look smart, but in reality they only make you look like a prick.

Again, lets this be the end of it, please. I really did do my best to make this competition feel fair and I really do not want it to end this badly just because some people dont agree with me.

BTW, because of some of your posts in the forums I really thought you'll enter this competition and create like an FO science manual Im a little sad you didnt, I think it'd be great

Actually, part of the attraction for me was to play with Baron against the mods.  I have a lot of respect for Baron.  I'm kind of becoming "the Dominion guy", since I play them a lot, but Baron's the old school Dominion player.  One of these days if he comes back and plays more online, you'll probably find us talking shop on a class nobody plays.  So I can honestly say that I was just as interested in meeting and playing along side him as I was the Optec, Doca, and Zeich (I'm assuming Zeich's the 3rd player.)

I forgot to anwser this b4. Im really happy and honored you feel that way, I just hope I wont disappoint you guys

Vote please people, we would like to see the winner....

actually, I would suggest making it a 3v3 instead of 2v2.

The 2 mods who were coming, Baron, and  ALL 3 winners.

So the teams would be the 2 mods + the guy who gets the most votes, and the other team can be Baron with the other 2..would be a win win for all
Plus the votes are still relevant since the guy with the most gets to be on the mods' team.
