The Borg Return

The Cardassian government has been stabilized with the help of the Tereanans and all Tereanan ships have left Cardassian space.  The Mountshining has just engaged a fleet of five Borg vessels and has a detailed scan of a new type of vessel that was encountered.  Copies of these scans have been sent to the Federation, the Romulans, the Klingons, and the Cardassians for them to analyze as well.



This small Borg group has been destroyed by the Mountshining.  The vessels were on a course to Earth but were intercepted.  The Tereanans are speculating that the Borg have rebuilt the unicomplex and are analyzing the database of the pyramid that was scanned for navigational information on where the rebuilt unicomplex might be, if it has been rebuilt at all.

Well its... a pyramid. With glowy stuff in the middle.   

Yeah, it's pretty awful.

The 'glowy stuff' and mini-Nebula I liked in the old Planet Assimilator (I always renamed it), the rest of the quality was crap though.

Thanks.  This was supposed to be interactive sort of like the "Cardassia will rise" thread where the factions react to the first post.

Report from Tereanan Headquarters on Earth:

The narrow end of the pyramid appears to be some sort of ultra-high powered phaser cannon.  The wide end seems to have some sort of nanoprobe discharger.  And according to the scans of the vessels database, the vessel is designed to assimilate planets from a high orbit.  The cubes are probably an escort because our scans suggest that there are no other weapons aboard the pyramid.

We thank the Tereanans for this intel, though our analysis staff wishes you had gotten higher resolution scans of this vessel, but I digress.

Both Starfleet Command and the Federation Council find this development extremely disturbing. We believed the Borg had been sufficiently silenced by the actions of the U.S.S. Voyager, however, it would appear this is not the case.

In light of this most recent attempt on Earth, the Federation is prepared to send multiple fleets into Borg space in an effort to eliminate the Borg once and for all.

On a separate note, we recommend that the Tereanan empire find better star charts. Frankly, it's hard to believe you actually live right next to Starfleet and have such inaccurate charts.

The Tereanans are preparing to deliver a virus to the collective that will liberate every drone and destroy all knowledge on how to reestablish the collective link.  But a new Borg encryption code is making it difficult to program the virus.  This plan does come with inherit dangers though.

The Tereanans already have a transwarp network in the Delta Quadrant and will allow federation vessels to go through the conduits.  If needed, federation vessels can pick up extra supplies at the Tereanan stations that are in the Delta Quadrant. 

The TSS Supernova has successfully disabled a pyramid in the Delta Quadrant and are going to dismantle it to learn more about this new vessel.  The Supernova away team reports that there are more than 20 times as many nanoprobe generators on this vessel than any other Borg ship that has been encountered so far.  That on-top of the special weapon we found at the bottom of the pyramid suggests that the Borg intend on shooting nanoprobes into the atmosphere of a planet.  The weapon at the top of the planet seems to be strictly for taking out any and all planetary defense before the assimilation process begins.  It has enough firepower to one-shot an entire city!

I haven't seen that many maps from the star trek shows or online.  However, if I see a map, I'll modify my map to match it better.

This is a composite of four maps included in the Star Trek Star Charts book. As far as I can tell, it's pretty accurate, or I always felt it was.

i have the star charts book, and its maps are nice to look at, but like all other maps, not accurate. there is no way to make an accurate trek map, since there are so many contradictions in trek.

the klinks and cardassians are supposed to have a border for example. the klinks also sent a fleet into breen space.

also klach dkel brakt is the briar patch. which was mentioned after the book was published.

and ty'gokor's position on that map is not believable as it leaves them vulnerable. and is nowhere near kronos.

That map is somewhat what I based my map on, except I put Earth at the center of the Alpha quadrant instead of on the border of the alpha and beta quadrants.  It seemed logical to do that.  Plus I thought I saw one other map that did the same.

The Borg have reached the transwarp network.  But all the conduits have been closed.  There are three tactical cubes closing on our position.  We have 115 ships coming in for reinforcements, several of them are equipped with new weapons.  Only 52 of those ships have arrived.  The Mountshining has ejected one of its power cores ontop of one of the cubes.  We haven't seen either ship since.

They've broken through the turret blockade...
