In the PC game Star Trek: Armada II, eight tactical cubes could be joined into a single starship, the tactical fusion cube. Note that this is highly noncanon. In the same game, eight of the Original Borg Cubes can be fused together to form the Fusion Cube.

Taken from Wikipedia Article - Borg Starship

Therefore, fusion cubes don't exist...I personally think the whole fusion cube idea should be scrapped. Cubes and tactical cubes shouldn't be quite as strong as in the TV series, but they should definately be able to take on the average-sized fleet and win. To balance, they'd be more expensive, more difficult to build, and the build time should be upped.

In other words, IMO, a cube should be able to take on the average-sized fleet (4 or 5 ships) and win, but it shouldn't win against, say, a starbase.

Anyone can write in Wikipedia, I could have written that, it doesnt mean its 100% correct :S

Well, you'd think that if someone falsified that information, then it would have been corrected. Besides, I haven't seen one in any of the series I watch. And it's not in the Star Trek ships database.

Here's the way I see it. The Borg Ccube in A2 was weak, and uncanon for a borg cube. (Tactical) Fusion Cubes measured up to the power AND size of a Borg Cube. Now, either Borg Cubes should take 8 times the material and time to build, more they should be build in small Mini-Cubes to be fusioned together to make a Cube.

Oh, and the wikipedia page no longer seems to have that quote. :hmmm:

i'm not a great fan of fusion cubes, if there is to be a great big hunkin' cube it should be as a ship built and used as a whole.

Totally agree with you, talking canon wise there is NO proof that fusion was ever used with the borg :)

yeah they are just too bulky i mean they can't seperate back easily. it is just an oversized slug like ship

Umm...

I would just like to point out that a fusion cube by itself can wipe out a good sized base. Which is what I think a cube should be able to do. I, however, think that it should be build as one ship in a special shipyard. They borg wouldn't build a fusion cube it's against perfection. Why build and waste 8 cubes when you could just build one big one? And when you had the resouces in A2, who really used 8 cubes as opposed to one 1 fusion cube?

Well, Star Trek isn't exactly well-known for its consistancy. Consider in ST:Starfleet Command III in which a cube doesn't have to be modified, adjusted, or improved in any way to kick ***. Yet here it takes fleets of Cubes (like, 4 or 5 at least) to destroy a single Federation Starbase.

well the borg are known for their adaptability. but i guess they adapt to the powerlevel of the enemy :D

In SC3 u only need one cube to destroy a base, its ****** easy. You can even go 1on1 with the space dock with a sovie and win, you only need to know what to target ;) :shifty:

i go for the warpcore, then torpedoes, then finally phasers/disrupters. that worked for me.

now about cubes/fusion cubes. i agree that cubes should cost more, and should be far more powerful, and even be built at a massive shipyard. oh, and they should be bigger too. (if i recall correctly a single cube was about the size of an entire federation taskforce/battlegroup)
