lol IM not saying this specific ship needs a non Earth name im just saying there should be some non Earth names in the mix  maybe throw some non earth names in the name lists in the odf's for all Fed ships

Hmm since this ship is named Okinawa is it assumed that the ships of this class will be named after major  battles??? Very Klingonesque.

Honestly?  The human-dominated starfleet has been messed up since the very beginning.  Changing it now would leave it feeling... disjointed.  Almost like another JJ Abrams reboot...

I think he was suggesting that as an individual name for a ship of this Class. Even if the Iwo Jima Class actually existed in the FO timeline, its prototype wouldn't be the only ship to use the name.
