We'll see how it turns out, but i think that we'll see a lot of complaining about the feds in the next patch and mostly by those who now hail the new Canaveral specials.

I think everyone will be complaining about all the races, cuz really we all don't know what the ballence is yet, really, its no use ever sttarting now untill we get numbers, which we won't get untill the next patch. so all we have are optec's posts, dom's little tid-bits and our own imagations that fear the worst to go off of, not much when you consider really.

True as that may be, we have had a few heated discussions in the last months about the Nova and Nova refit. Now the federation Support promises to bring/boost one of the most basic weapons to new heights.

It is true that we do not know the specifics yet, but it's easy to see where this train is heading...

Maybe not. While the Nova special and new Canaveral special will be similar we do not know if they will fall into the same level of power. The number of ships affected as well as the number of shots fired and damage dealt can all be used to balance both abilities.(Assuming that the special of the Nova remains - there has not been a conformation that it will.)

Right now all we have seen about the next version is a few pieces of a puzzle - we have a general picture but not clear details. Worrying about details we have not seen is easy, but pointless.

Haha, ridiculous how some people complain about a single additional Fed phaser . Seriousely guys, it's just one phaser of a Fed vessel. It's not like a beam sphere would insta-kill whole fleets with its additional beams, on the contrary. Since every bit helps an additional weapon is never bad, but it won't be something that wipes the floor with fleets.
I do like the constant flow of news, give us more and not only Feds . Perhaps the "imba!" screams become less then.

Hehe, yep. I see that its hard to judge the dimension of change, that's why we do the news posts to keep you as informed as possible.
The next newspost will be about something non-Federation. The Federation is just the faction we migrated first (we have to start somewhere). There are faction which actually get more new toys and more changes than them.

Remember that that single phaser shot can determine if your precious Rhien, Sphere, Bug etc survives or not.

With the ruckus about the nova/nova refit special i can see a lot of complaining about this in the future.

Also remember they have increased the defense of many ships. Adding a another phaser could be more cosmetic change than anything else.

True, but when it comes to human nature and the tendency to complain i have learned to hope for the best and expect the worst.

I think it's inevitable that in time people will complain especially when sides are balanced.

Personally i think balance will be fine, but the target assist (or what it's called) is so similar to the nova special that i anticipate people complaining about it.

It's usually true that as factions/features are better balanced then people start complaining about balance. This is one of those potential hot spots

I can't wait for the next release. Beside all those arguments about balance a point should be noted and is the work behind this update, we should apreciate the deep rethinking of all races. I am impressed with the devs!  What a great job.

Will the support ships have self-destruct?  It would be a shame if one of those got captured and you had your own technology used against you.
