Venture ping permanent? I clearly remember recrewing and the ping stopped after a little bit (and I repaired it even, it definitely stopped pinging.) I think the timer on it just stops ticking while there is no crew, then either restarts or continues from how long remained once recrewed.
Also, the fact that the ping continues once recrewed is itself a sort of bug, as races that can't get the research on it can recrew a derelict venture and are then using a cloak detect ability they haven't researched. :ermm:

Also: LuSpet field of fire is bugged IIRC (absolutely no damage, and this was in a battle where I was using three to five Field of Fires at once with no fed miners blowing up.)

It probably pauses until recrewed rather than restarts after. I've taken several Rhienns that continued using Phase plates for only a few seconds after assimilation before losing it. I don't think it's a high-priority issue since it doesn't last long and is only a one-time thing.

'Continue until complete' probably happens to any vessel with timed replaceweapons.

i think this needs more testing.

i originally thought this was the case using map editor places luspets that did no damage.

then me and dominus tested it with non standard settings of free tech and stupidly low costs and it worked fine.

maybe on free tech it works fine but on normal tech it doesnt.

That doesn't prove it's bugged.  Dom has assured me that this is not, in fact, a bug.

Just tested it again in IA with no free tech (which doesn't affect the weapon anyway). Still works just fine :)

Hmmm, how much damage does it do? The guide gave me the impression it should make destroyers explode if you use multiple of them.

  It does hull damage only.  It also spreads out.  Just cause it's not exploding doesn't mean it's not working.  Check to see if hull damage has occurred and that should tell you.

It does about 19 damage on rank over 8 seconds to up to 5 units (19 damage to each unit).

im gonna vote that its not bugged, multiple tests and it seems to work, i probably made a silly mistake last time i tested it.

now all these posts should be deleted to keep the list nicer.

•Breen S-2's can only be "group-selected" at ranks 1-4.


Same with Rheinns though its reither anked or unranked only that can be group selected. I forget which avatar and don't remember if refits are affected though.

Also, here are two odd happenings related to miners.

1) This only happens with some races though its possible that all can do it. If a mining ship is currently the one that isn't minning from a moon or is sitting idle waiting for orders and an enemy ship gets close enough to it it will start "minning" the enemy ship of its resources though it doesn't actually have any effect on the ship even if five are doing it.

2) And just recently some of the minning ships after they have offloaded will exit out the entrance(not backwards) of the mining station instead of following the normal path. This happens randomly with all except Borg though it probably has happened when I wasn't looking.

Is there an issue with the Dominion-Romulan hyperspace disruptor special weapon?  Just thought I'd report this because it crashed both of us out of a game.

I was mijural romulan, and my ally breen dominion vs 2 merciless borg - he got a dreadnought up to veteran, and shot at a borg base with the special hyperspace disruptor and we both crashed.  Anyone else encountered this?  I might try in instant action.

Yup, you mean the Tetryon Singularity on Veteran Dreads - the Hyperspace Disruptor is the basic weapon on two of the Dreads :)

Not sure if this is known or not, but I used a few Kvort shield breaking torpedoes on a miner (while cloaked) and a nearby enemy ship moved to attack my ships and proceeded to follow my cloaked fleet as they retreated. So, enemies target and chase (but do not attack, until they decloak) cloaked Kvorts if they use their torpedo near them.
