The animation (waves) gives a pretty accurate  indication of how near a turret/vessel needs to be to get resupplied with energy.

Actually thats sensor range.

I highly doubt that. Why would the Singularity be the one station in the game that shows sensor range when placing?

Maybe because it only actually has sensors to show a range for? Build a Starbase or Turret, it'll show both weapons and sensors.

You my have figured it out by yourself already, but it sounds like you've had an unexpected encounter with one of the newer features: the minimap now comes equipped with buttons that toggle which stations and vessels are displayed.

It's actually a Stock feature :)

It's been so long since I played stock, I guess I had forgotten it was ever there. Nevertheless, it has only recently been re-integrated into the new HUD.

i remember it being in fleetops for ages. its a rarely used feature, the default minimap does the job fine for me.

I think cloaks are buggy atm.

I just got a new laptop, (Core i7, 2.3ghz quad core, 16gb of ram, 3gb of video ram nvidia 555)but when i cloak a fleet of warbirds i get really sluggish frame rates. Every setting is maxed, and then i turned of AA to see if it would help. It didn't make any difference at all. As soon as i uncloak them the sluggishness disappears.

If it's just me i'll be rather relieved and just reinstall.

Yea, like Myles stated, it's been in the FO GUI since the beginning - since the GUI got new graphics a few patches ago, the button placement changed of course :). Perhaps that's what you are thinking of  ^-^

Yup, cloaking/decloaking causes slowdowns, more so on some computers than on others. A fix is in progress :)

i get this too. my system isnt good, but your system is excellent, the slowdown is independent of how good the computer is unforunately. means i cant even watch my cloak fleet as its about to attack

Whoops, sorry about he repeated info then. I didn't see it in the compiled list on the first page.
It really caught me by surprise, i'd been playing brink for a few hours at max settings then went to Fleetops and played my first Romulan game in weeks and suddenly choo choo train.

Interesting that it would only do so now for you - this issue has been a plague for... well... it's a Stock issue soooo  . Perhaps a reinstall wouldn't hurt, but yea, it's definitely an issue (along with slowdowns caused by explosions, and looking at Borgies)  :sweatdrop: . There is no problem in reporting bugs, even if they have already been reported :)

i wish my computer supported brink, i've seen some footage of it, it looks great.

Slowdown on booms i noticed, i didnt really see that as a serious problem... I figured it was just related to pulling up the animation from the HDD. I wanted to test that on an SSD in the near future, once i get it setup and all. I guess now i won't have to. The Borg slow down i didnt even notice... Interesting. And i guess my old laptop was generally crappy enough that i didn't notice the additional slowdown much. New machine makes it very noticeable.

@Myles, its pretty awesome, but it almost feels incomplete.

ive heard that people say brink is not polished yet, hopefully they will release some patches that polish it. i mean hopefully for you, unless they release a patch that moves its system requirements back 5 years im never gonna play it.

fleetops on a ssd im not sure would work, ssd have good time for small amounts of data, but fleetops needs access to loads of data, not just a little, in which case a normal drive is better.
