do you know when it's going to be released

The patch is currently doing well, but It's going to be some time before it even gets to the point where they start releasing videos. Additionally a full release is at least few months way. At least that's what I was told when I started my rebalance mod.

Hi i was just wondering if the cardassians would be added at all either as part of the dominion or as a full race. And if so how long till we see them in action

hello, i asked this a while ago and i seem to recall that they will be coming in the form of a major (but none playable faction) where they will feature in some maps as mercs for hire or for trade i believe.
not part of the dominion but as a dominion player you should be able to ally with them.
also not likely to be integrated in the next version 4.0 but maybe in one or 2 updates after that.
that is what i think is happening but i might be incorrect.

Major NPC with a few ships and stations. Apparently, they also have a part in the storyline (assuming we ever make it to single player).
Cardassians allied with the Dominion is a big no in FO.

yeah thats right, if they were included in some of the multiplayer maps that would be possible but not in the campaign

Do correct me if I am wrong, but I imagine that the Cardassians and the Federation now have the same sort of relationship as the FRG and the USA. Not exactly a "puppet" but they set up a pro-Federation government and such.

hi, been playing fleetops for a while now, i noticed some area's/ tweaks that could be improved on.
- self-destruct button.
i noticed when i had a sovereign class on a deep space patrol, it came under heavy attack. i wanted to deal some damage to the enemy fleet even if it was just minor (like in the armada 2) but no self-destruct.
- life support damaging nebula's.
i thought they was pretty sweet, finding a abandoned ship every now and again is always a thumbs up.
- option to disable ferengi.
hate it when your going to transport personnel to one of your derelict ships to find that once you get there its been stolen.
- Ability to give units + resources to friendly AI.
self-explanatory really
anyways really nice job you guys have done and keep up the amazing work

i can help you with this one, when setting up a game, press the "advanced" button just above the "launch" button.
on the left hand side there is 3 tick boxes.
the middle one "Non-Player Races On" un-tick this box and no ferengi will come onto the map.
(tho i believe after a certain amount of time ships will spontaneously explode if not captured)
hope that helps

Hey!
I was just wondering if the Steamrunner was going to appear in the next iteration of fleetOps. If it it will appear, what is its function? Will it act like the Romulan Serkas, or will it have a more specialized function?

Thanks! I'm a newer player that enjoys playing FleetOps with a few of my friends over LAN. I'm extremely impressed with the work you guys do. Keep up the awesome work!

Hi All
I have been watching this forum for a while now and occasionally I have even commented on some posts. Fleet ops is a great game and I have been looking forward to the next release but lately I have had the feeling I shouldn't get my hopes up. I can't remember the last time it took so long for another dev article to appear and the project progress page has had the same number of tasks left to do now as it has for the last couple of months at least. I know the devs aren't able to give an estimate of the release date but I wonder if they could give reassurance that it is still an active project and maybe an estimate for the next substantial article. Is the lull due to extended holidays? moving on to other projects? or heaven forbid maybe even wanting to move on from fleet ops?
I really really hope I don't come across as not appreciating the work that is being done, I really do as I love fleet ops! It is because I like it so much that I am asking and hope it doesn't come across the wrong way. Also please forgive me if I am being over dramatic in asking.

Yes, the project is still active. Actually a lot is going on right now.
The thing about articles is that we usually dedicate the free time we have to work on the actual tasks and not writing about them. Besides, often these tasks are just plain boring and not worth to be put into an article.
