Nah, that's outdated now (hence the big red "outdated" blob) :) So don't worry about it. That was when Bugs could one hit kill anything under defense of 32  . If anything, since it only does 50% to civilian ships, it's kind of pointless unless your Bug is dying  ^-^

Just out of curiosity: does ramming a constructor while it is actually building destroy or prevent from finishing what's actually being built?

I don't think I've ever actually seen a constructor that's BUILDING be rammed except in old videos where it instantly died anyway.

The constructor still builds, but it's pushed far away.  Quite funny, actually. ^-^

so if you rammed it repeatedly, but made sure not to destroy it, it would actually be building from a huge distance away?

so constructors should be allowed to build anywhere  :sweatdrop:

i know thats awful logic, but it would be funny, instant build anywhere on the map.  :whistling: XD

remember the vanilla a2 weapon for the klingon high tier support ship (fek'lhr class - similar to what the bortas does now) that pushed ships away, it was a weird weapon. i wonder if that had a similar effect on constructors

Thanks yandonman for this excellent review!  I could learn something to improve my weak micro skills as well.  ^-^ Concerning Custodian, I think you manage the handling well and have a lot of potential. If you get the building order right, nothing will stop you!  :borg:

Yep a pretty good job all around!

Tyrus did a great job of focusing on the expansion resources when the Dominion ships retreated into the nebula.  Though I would (and Yandon pointed this out as well) recommend to him that he should work on micro-ing some of his larger ships a bit more.

The Vorcha's should be removed from battle once they hit about 1/2 shield strength (as of 3.1.1 that is) so that they are around 1/4 to 0 % shield strength once they actually leave battle.  Once that happens they can actually return to the edge of battle and attack without being instantly destroyed.  They're tough!  You want to make sure you don't lose them unnecessarily.

To Custodian I would recommend also continuing to scout.  The middle moon pair in that map really need to have a watch kept on them so you can attack before something like a Heavy Weapons Platform goes up :).  Also make sure to keep a powerful force of Bugs ready before you move up to S-2.  And always get that Alpha Ketracel !!!

Once again a nice demonstration of failed early techup :) eventhough one of them won the game. But a good start so far.

The best was:

"This map is linear even if its curved."

The travel time for the worker bees will be the same as going with the actual constructor to a specific construction site.  It will be some sort of hidden construction project.

maybe the romulans could get sneaky building abilities, so they could build from a distance (just slower). or let their constructor build while cloaked (firstly give it a cloak :P)

im gonna make a feature request on this, thanks for the idea dave denton.

It used to be able to cloak, that was removed when it was decided to be unbalanced. Modern cloak detection is better than before, but cloaking constructors are likely to be seen as unbalanced still.

This was a really nice game! At the point the Dominion lost their base I expected that Star and Dexter would have won the game. BUT then something happened I dont understand...Dexter lost two entire fleets for nothing and at the same time build 6 exp with only 1 Frighter and he could not even manage to enter late game units which would have been neccessary...

Sometimes there's just too much going on to pay attention to everything :)

dexter quite rightly built the warbird yard, right then i would have expected him to pump out as many big Ds as possible. and freighters for his minings.

but he seemed to be focusing on his fleet, but im surprised he let so many small fleets get om nom nommed by dom's spheres of doom. and he didnt go after the diamond.

then again dexter was very strong on eating up zebh's miners. sniping them as yandonman would say :P i loved the way dexter stole zebh's "normal" expansion and put up a yard there.

zebh started ok, but got even better with his bombers being protected by those spheres. its a shame his base got eated. and he was paying attention to the attack on stardust and let his protos run away and get murdered.

just a question for dominus, zebh built an expansion at your natural expansion point, did u let him do that because its easier for dominion to set up mining than for borg and so that he could mine and send you the res?

This was my first game on this map, that's why my mining might have seemed to be a little odd. I didn't know about those moons next to me, until the late part of the game when Dominus boarded Dexter's base which revealed that small outpost there.
